Lovely restaurant on Jeffrey street in Edinburgh - good choice of steak and seafood funnily enough! We had scallops and haggis Bon bond to start and then rump and sirloin steak with chips tomato and pea purée. Lovely service and good atmosphere in the restaurant. Also some lovely prosecco for 4.50 a pop. Recommend.
I’d spotted the arrival Michael’s Steak and Seafood Bar on Jeffrey Street, taking over from the previous Mussel & Steak Bar, and thought very little about it. Then someone pointed out that the Michael of the name was in fact Michael Neave. My interest levels rose exponentially. With the arrival of Seafood Week, which starts today and runs until the 16th, in mind, I popped along to give it a try.
We went there for lunch today. The price of the 3 course menu was definitely attractive (£11,80). The staff was very friendly and very professional, we were very well looked after. The food was delicious and well presented. I liked that they put a Veggie option in the menu. The place is clean and modern with a nice view on Nelson Monument. I definitely recommend this place :).
Ok. It's a really value for money place. Don't get me wrong there a do deful quality to the seafood as well! Had the seafood platter in cream sauce with turmeric. Lovely combination and had the bread to soak up the sauce! What's amazing is the freshness of the crabs, prawns and mussels. The little scallops in the shells were a great. The little vege shoots added to the crunchiness.. recommend highly and Mike the owner is always on hand to recommend the wines and food good service too! Enjoy
All of the 3 fish main dishes are rich and very nice (though the clam casserole is a bit salty). Good combination of several types of seafood. Beautifully served too.
fillet steak and mussels are so fresh and delicious! the chocolate dessert is so pretty! the meal is worthwhile. service is nice, waitresses are so cute and pretty!
This place it is very delicious! I was completely satisfied with my mountain of seafood in the warm platter, and my husband is still dreaming about the bloody Mary oysters.. The shrimp cocktail was a bit disappointing, but I had sky-high expectations. The cider they serve is really better combined with their menu that the average restaurant, nice!
Lovely airy restaurant with amazing food. Excellent service from the friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money, all in all a wonderful dining experience.
The seafood platter was genuinely the best meal I think I've ever eaten. Great service, too. Highly recommended.
A really lovely experience, oysters to start with vodka bloody Mary sauce and a shellfish platter for main.... Both of which were amazing...the other half had bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil to start and for mains a filet steak that was cooked to perfection.. excellent wine list and first class service....
Excellent food ! Staff are friendly and efficient, lovely relaxed atmosphere and to be honest the food just keeps getting better!
Chanced upon this restaurant. Great food and service. One of the best during my stay in Edinburgh.
