Very happy with our visit. Excellent food. Staff were lovely. We felt very relaxed.

The best Mexican restaurant bar none! The staff are fabulous and didn’t try to rush us as we were choosing what we wanted. They answered all the questions we had about the drinks and brought our chosen food and drinks really quickly. We shared a cheese and haggis quesadilla starter, mains were a burrito and enchilada and we rounded it off with some delicious sorbet. It was so nice to talk, eat and drink in such a relaxed atmosphere and we were more than happy to leave a tip as the whole meal was such good value for money. We can’t wait to come back the next time we are in Edinburgh.

In early doors on a Friday, reasonably quiet. With our kids, not the pickiest of eaters but there were no issues accommodating their tastes Very friendly service,
Food is of great quality and flavour where fantastic

So cute inside- service was really top notch. Food great, fresh and speedy, as well as reasonably priced. Great atmosphere- feels like a one of a kind spot with true Cockburn street quirks.

Good Mexican restaurant with ample options for vegetarians or those with allergens. Some of the flavors hail more from a Spanish background than a Mexican one, but still delicious! Service was prompt and kind.

Amazing food which is cooked to perfection.
The service is so quick and friendly staff. who are so nice and very helpful even when you're not sure what to order, they gave us a few recommendations on the food. Which was top notch so tasty.
We have been twice as it's so good. The cocktails are also superb. I would highly recommend this place. Although very busy, it's best to book. We walked past at 6 when they opened and booked a table for later that night, walked around Royal Mile, while we waited on our table. Lots to see up there. This place is a must try if you like Mexican
Great value for money. Great atmosphere

I’m a native California gal who has high standards for my Mexican food. I’m generally disappointed with British ‘Mexican’ but Viva was EXCELLENT!! The menu was full of options for me and my vegetarian daughter and the salsas were amazing and varied and all of it was delusions and very authentic!! Highly recommended!!

Had such an amazing restaurant experience at Viva Mexico! I think what stood out the most was the friendliness of the people working here. We were welcomed with broad smiles and kind words. Additionally, the food was absolutely incredible. The nachos we ordered as a starter were such a big portion that it could've been a full meal in itself. The drinks were also heavenly 😍 We thought the very colourfully decorated interior added a lot to the atmosphere.
Would warmly recommend Viva Mexico to anyone searching for a wonderful restaurant experience in Edinburgh (:

The food here is excellent. Ok. Sure. You're thinking. Wait. I live in Texas. I KNOW what good Mexican food tastes like and how could good mexican food be here in Scotland of all places??
Well it is. Deal with it. Salsa? Excellent. Tortilla chips? Excellent. Encliladas? Great. Quesadilla? Great. Is everything JUST A LITTLE DIFFERENT because you just can't get all the exact right ingredients halfway around the world? Yeah. But seriously. It's not a knockoff of Mexican food. It's Mexican food. Get off your high horse and pull up a chair.
