Great pub, down a few steps to a quaint courtyard where there are barrell tables, inside the place opens up to have a small dancefloor lots of seating, clean toilets and a good selection of drinks
Harry and Sofi’s are the perfect match proving that both have something to bring to this relationship. Harry’s is a bar located in Edinburgh’s West End and Sofi’s is a bar in Leith, part of the award-winning Boda Bar Group, who own other renowned drinking destinations such as Hemma, Boda, Joseph Pearce and Akva. So when they took over Harry’s just before Christmas 2018 you knew that you would be guaranteed a good time.
We were very impressed with Harry's Bar. The tapas were excellent and having lived in Spain, it was far better than anything there. We sat outside with our pooch and was a very relaxing atmosphere. What was also great was the service. Liam, the bartender, was helpful, knowledgable and very friendly. We found out that Harry's Bar is a social enterprise, providing training for those who've had challenges and need that support and guidance in finding work and a future. We will definitely be back.
Didn't fancy cooking last night so racked my memory for places that looked to do good Sunday roasts. Harry's looked the biz. Opted for the scallop and Pork Belly special as a starter, which came with a pea and apple veloute. Beautiful. The skin was nice and crisp. Then onto the main event...Roast beef. The beef was melt in the mouth and served good and pink. Roasties were top notch, and a Yorkie, just to seal the deal. Well worth 17 quid. Service was great too and good wine selection. Well played Harry.
This wasn’t my first visit to Harry’s Bar & Grill since its revamp a few months ago. I’d been along on one of the opening nights with Sharon from Bite Magazine. We’d been very impressed. I popped in for a lunchtime visit in hopes that a similarly top-notch feed would be in the offing.

The Man and I both started with a fish dish, he with scallops and a ham hock terrine, and myself a classic moules mariniere. Unfortunately my mariniere wasn’t as classic as hoped, with a lack of cream to bring it to consistency, however it was a beautiful white wine and citrus sauce, with some of the plumpest and well cooked mussels I have ever had the pleasure of eating.
Nicely renovated. Tapas style food was freshly cooked and delicious. Particularly recommend the goat's cheese and beetroot salad and the sweet potato fries were fantastic. Wide selection of beers, wines and cocktails.
This place has changed for the worse, our favourite cocktail no longer available, we still asked for a gin and rhubarb one to be made up and the barman obliged. The food has been dumbed down, burgers mostly. They had run out of steak so no steak sandwiches. We had fish cakes for starters, the korma, which was tomato spicy unlike normal korma and green dream salad for lunch, which we enjoyed, but it’s not what it was, not a favourite now. It says Harry’s meets Sofi’s but Harry should dump Sofi.
A brilliant hidden gem of a bar. The cocktails were lovely and the bar itself was really nice. We were interested as well to see the bar is dedicated to giving back to the community and its amazing to see businesses giving back so we will definitely be returning and recommending to others to support them in this.
Great night . Went to see CHILL and they didnt disappoint. The atmosphere was fantastic, guests of all ages up on their feet dancing . The Bar team were very efficient and polite . Thanks
We had a private party at Harry's Bar last night to celebrate our daughters engagement. Food was amazing and cocktails were delicious. Nothing was a bother to the staff. A lovely place for a private party, couples or small groups. Will definitely be back
I suppose my review is coloured by the corporate event that occurred on the night of my visit - it was a great bar and I had a good chat with the bartender who had previously been employed at another excellent pub in the city who I recognised. Obviously they employ quality staff - but the gin event on offer was silliness and definitely interrupted the evening on more than one occasion with announcements and such. I really think it's a great pub but just a word to the proprietors - chill out on the promotional gigs, please?

Food was wonderful and the variety of flavours excellent. Catering for meat eaters and veggies. Nice selection of drinks. The best bit is "The ethics of the company" getting young people into work by identifying there potential and encouraging them to advance.

Went for lunch with the family using an Itison deal that included Tapas and cocktails. Was quite early on so was quiet therefore don't know how quick service would be if it where busy, but we got our food very quickly and it was lovely, served by friendly staff. Cocktails where nice too.

This was my second visit to this bar! It was fairly quiet both times (bearing in mind that 1st time was a Thurs and second was a Wednesday) my second visit was definitely the best, the guy behind the bar was great spirit and banter and very welcoming .... I came in for one drink and stayed for 4!!!! The prices are decent for being in town and a great drink selection. I would recommend.
