Maison Bleue Le Bistrot

We had our first night out in a while as we are new parents and I was looking forward to eating some French food. The terrace is lovely and we got lucky, It was quiet and sunny. The waiters were friendly and professional. The food was tasty, small portions - a bit on The pricey side. I had a mocktail and it was delicious. I was a bit disappointed not to find any typical French dessert on the menu. Also, The following night of our meal I felt very unwell and got sick most of the night. I went to see my GP and confirmed it was food poisoning. I contacted the restaurant via Instagram and Facebook to let them know just in case they still had the food we had in stock for the next day. I must say I was very disappointed by the answer I got. I did not expect anything I just wanted to let them know. The lady who sent me an answer was not the most friendly and answered that they never had any incident in 6 years and that she’ll be very surprised if my symptoms were caused by food poising from their restaurant. I must say, that this unempathetic answer is the reason I will not come back and not recommend the place. Update 4 days after our visit. I spent the day at the Royal infirmary and they confirmed the food poisoning and bacteria infection.

Booked the valentines at home menu during lockdown as a special treat and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious, instructions on reheating simple to follow. And attention to detail was perfect. Really really impressed with every single aspect from service to delivery to the food itself, and cannot wait to go in to the restaurant itself once things have reopened to sample more of their delicious menu
