I visit this place last week to have breakfast with my friends. Food was really tasty, environment is amazing. We ordered Four Egg Cheese Omelette and Egg & Bacon Pancakes with maple sauce along with Tomato & Orange Juices and Coffees. The service is exceptionally good. Do visit this place for a meal if you visit Edinburgh

Decent option for American. My family & I needed a kid-friendly place for lunch near the Royal Mile and Filling Station fit the bill. Service was passable at a busy time although the waitress clearly was foreign and her English wasn't the best so it took a little bit of pointing to clarify what we wanted.
The burgers and wraps were definitely acceptable, and in fact were some of the better burgers we've had in the U.K. (couldn't find an edible burger in London to save my life, Edinburgh is much better). All in all, it was a decent place for American-style food if you need a safe (and kid-friendly, since many otherwise good taverns can't take kids in and/or don't have high chairs!) option in Old Town.
A decent restaurant. They were very accommodating of our party of 15 turning up out of the blue. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was good. Got to enjoy some Girders (Irn-Bru and Vodka)

This place has a great atmosphere, wonderful service and the food isn't bad either. We both had a mixed drink. Wife had fish and chips while I had the rack of ribs. The ribs were cooked to perfection, but aren't cooked American style. They don't put any rub on them before cooking. The BBQ sauce is quite good but in true brittish fasion the meat has little spice. For desert we had the Sticky Toffee Sandwich with salted carmel sauce. This was spectacular! My only complaint is that the restaurant has a large set of stairs to get to the bathrooms. Well worth the trip and grab a pint or something a wee bit stronger if you like. Greta was our server and she made sure we were well cared for.
It's become a tradition for us to stop off at The Filling Station during a trip to Edinburgh. This is the first time we have had breakfast though, and it was delicious. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The decor is fabulous and creates a wonderful ambience. If you're visiting Edinburgh, I recommend this great place to eat!
Couldn't have been any better! Amazing food, atmosphere and really nice staff! Worth going, whether that's for lunch or dinner... we had the pizza! It's even nice enough to just nip in for a quick pint!

It is an italian American venue with much motorsport memorabilia.
The menu is italian American. So burgers , mac and cheese is on there.
We welcomed and seated, and the food came in a good time.
The burgers were little battling a monster, and it packed a punch of a taste. Both meals came with 2 drinks to 55 uk pounds
We went on a very rainy day for breakfast early Saturday morning so it was very quiet, food was great, customer service was welcoming and friendly.

Pretty touristy place with good value kids meals. Service was really friendly and fast.
Haven't been here in 10 years since I last visited but wanted to take the kids and we weren't disappointed. We were seated straight away and promptly our order was taken by our server Alan.
Our food came out within 10 minutes and was great. I had the Pitstop burger (pictured) and the kids had the chicken wrap (pictured) and a pepperoni pizza. All really good and fresh.
Alan, our server, was attentive but not intrusive and nothing was too much.

Perfectly served cold lager. Didn't order food because before coming here for few pints we ate supper. But next time definitely we'll try their food too.
Simple, tasty food, done right. Despite its size, the restaurants cosy atmosphere and friendly staff are always inviting. Its large menu may seem a little daunting, however there are definitely a few items worth checking out. Most of all, the Filling Station offers great value for money, with large, filling, American style dishes, at a generally reasonable price. Always a decent bet for Edinburgh local and tourist alike.
