Sombrero

I honestly go here at least 3 times a week. This is in my opinion, the best takeaway / fast food option in Edinburgh and here's why. 1. Big portion size. 2. Great tasting ingredients 3. Value for money. Most emphasis on the 3rd. Give it a bash, you won't be disappointed. Vastly superior to the other burrito places I've tried.

Just finished a delicious burrito from this place, had always noticed it on my way home and decided to try it tonight. Get a lot of food for your money (went for the beef mince with extra guacamole and cheese), and all the negative reviews seem to be about the delivery which I can't comment on. If you're walking past hungry, I would highly recommend!

Pulled pork burrito - huge portion, enough for 2 people. As it was just for me I would've preferred an option of medium or large. Pulled pork was fine. Cilantro rice needed more cilantro. Burrito would have been a bit bland without choosing the hot salsa and jalapeños (extra). Service quick and friendly. Drinks in fridge not cold.

Is this place for real!? Delivery time quoted 1 hour 15 mins after order, seemed a bit excessive but hoped it would be worth it. When it was 15 minutes late, I phoned to ask where my food was/why it's late. Whoever answered the phone could not have cared any less. Like really could not care, mumbled something about a big order in the morning (it was late evening when I made my order). The nachos (SIX POUNDS NINETY PENCE!!!!!) were cold tortilla crisps (30p ish in Tesco) in a carrier bag with some thimble sized pots of sauce (I paid 95p for a teaspoon sized drip of guacamole) and a pot of weird yellow sauce (I'm guessing it was supposed to be cheese sauce!?). Delivery was £2.85 and the delivery driver just rudely stood with his hand out as he did not know how much the order cost. The tacos were a soggy mess. In summary, I will never ever use Sombrero again and will certainly make sure people know how poorly they treat their customers and the pathetic standard of their food.

Walked in and odered Burrito and chips and that's the point I should have cancelled and walked out but I decided to give this place a chance. Dirty trays with food slops all over the lids. Buritto eventually wrapped in tin foil which was covered in food finger prints from the girls sloppy plastic gloves. Got home and struggled to eat this unappetising droopy burrito that fell apart and all over the place. The extremly thin chips were over salted and dried out to an extent of not being recognised as a chip. Can safely say I will not be back to this overpriced cheap food joint. Menu is in the bin.
