Delicious Italian

I’m so rarely in the Marchmont environs that there is a mounting list of places for me to visit. I spied the Meadowlark, which is one of them, as I passed, shortly prior to popping in to the confines of the Delicious Italian Pizzeria, which was another.

With an elegant double sunburst window frontage, this is worth a visit just to contemplate its aspect. The interior, though configured as an informal takeaway, retains stylish cornicing, also.

The majority of their business is as a takeout shop, but there’s space for around a dozen sit-in, so I took advantage of that and plonked myself down. Menus were on the table, but also writ large across one of the walls.

I’m a great fan of aubergine, so opted for their melanzana (another variant spelling of one of my favourite dishes to consider) to start. Given there were two substantial Italian gentleman tossing pizza dough around the place, behind the counter, it seemed churlish not to order a pizza, so I opted for their 12″ meat collection. The place isn’t licensed, so I grabbed a soft drink from their well-stocked fridge.

The melanzana was soon with me, and was a really good rendition of the dish. The portion was profuse and the flavours strong, leaving me entirely contented.

The pizza was every bit as good and better. The topping was the star, with the excellent selection of meats, from chicken to pepperoni to salami to ham to delicious meatballs, combining for a magnificent feast of meat.

So overall, I was well impressed with Delicious. It certainly lived up to its name, providing me with two memorable dishes. I’d be happy to point you in their direction next time you’re looking for quality pizza, and I look forward to trying one of their pasta dishes, next time I visit.

Was pondering for a while what pizza to get on deliveroo, when a friend suggested delicious italian. I had a look at the menu and seen the very attractive price tag of £14 for a meal deal. I thought maybe it was too good to be true? Surely the quality of the food will be poor as it is so cheap? But no. The food was so attractive and tasted just as good as it looked. There was way too much food just for me so I would suggest ordering this meal deal when you've got pals over playing xbox etc. My favourite thing was the sheer size of the bottle of coke. 6 servings in one bottle can't complain. Will defo order again

Just want to say I truly recommend this Italian takeaway, my family and I get takeaways a lot from here and always are very happy with the food and the service... I had ordered a delivery tonight I which I got pizza, pasta, I had called the shop to say did the pasta have meat in it as I thought I could taste meat as I'm vegetarian but they said no but sent me another's pasta but delivery which I never expected as it did taste amazing anyway I just wanted to make sure... So yeah I thought that was very kind of them and now have 2 delicious pastas!! I shall keep one for tomorrow 😀💯

Amazing tastes fabulous all of the dishes I have tried as I'm good regular customer! Give it try well worth it! And it's halal every single thing they make! Makes it even more enjoyable! 10 out of 10

Great pizzas, large for their prices compared to other pizzerias. It also has halal and vegetarian options for everyone to enjoy 😋

Popped in here after leaving another Italian a few minutes up the road. Great pizza and very friendly staff. Really wished we had come here first time around.
