I had to wait for my Kebab to be cooked up the road so we stopped and had a beer.
It was in really good condition (Butcombe Haka) and as it was warmer outside, we sat on the seats outside and watched Ely go by. A great selection of real ale as well.
Great place. Friendly staff. Only popped in for a couple of pints. Staff difused the fight between 2 older men a tad drunk but sent on there separate ways. Added to the entertainment that I know all too well about the bar industry. :)
The TV booths are amazing. Food is nice however got caught out on the special menu. Ordered the scampi and server said is that a small, I replied yes as I pointed to the option on the special menu I was holding. She assumed I meant off the small plates menu and not the special offer menu. Small plate is just scampi and the special offer is scampi, chips and peas both are the same price. There is also a large scampi dish on the main menu which is why I replied yes. When we question this she said sorry you said small. Had to order more food wbere as i feel like they should have just brought me out some chips. There are alot of deals that I feel server's should know of and communicate with the customers. We ordered 3 plate deal off the small plates menu but on the weekend you can get 5 for an extra £1 or something. Again we felt like we missed out as we ordered another dish after this at full price. Toilets clean, free WiFi. Dogs allowed huge bonus.

We ate a selection of small platters, meatballs, chicken wings, hunter's chicken topped chips, katsu curry topped chips, cauli wings. All were really nice. Also ordered a mac and cheese burger and a lasagne. Very good portion sizes.
We ended up going back 3 times during our week holiday.
Love this pub. Serves good pub grub for a reasonable price, good choice of drinks, air con (life saver when camping in summer) and they allow dogs! Which is great for our little dog.
A fantastic pub, it may seem sports themed but on days significant matches aren't being held (most days of the year) this is a great family friendly place to eat. Offering a good selection of pub classics and well made food.

Visiting family for a while in Ely, decided to try out the local pub. Food was good but the best part was the service & atmosphere of the Hereward. Chatted to one of the staff - Felix - he was very friendly and told me he’d be off to university in London (my home!) to become a video game artist. I wish him well.
I came in for brunch on Monday feeling hot and bothered from the heat and despite the my short tempered manner I want to praise the staff for their professionalism and customer focus. I would particularly like to thank Suzi, please forgive me if the spelling is wrong, her friendly manner and attitude towards making my visit the best it could be meant the bar was literally an oasis for me. Thank you Suzi, thank you Hereward
All lovely food and staff am always welcoming I will be returning next time I am in the area
