Worked in the US restaurant industry for over ten years, and have been living in Exeter. I've had a massive addiction to Mexican food for most of my adult life, and if this is, by no small margin, the greatest burrito I've had in the UK. What's more, is that in addition to that, it's the third best burrito list of any burrito I've had in the US as well; for those that are wondering, the other two were a place in York Pennsylvania that has closed, and the other was in Laurel Maryland and has also closed. This is a very good thing in my life.
The best food in exeter. Very cheap, huge portions and great staff. Also you don't have to pay extra for avvo n cheese like that rubbish place on gandy st
Had the Chicken Burrito Box; delicious! Not usually a fan of Mexican food, but I'd come back to eat here again. Very friendly service too.
really authentic and one of the yummiest food i’ve ever had in my whole life! please please come here and support them
Best Mexican food I’ve had in a very long time. This place is a must! We had the chicken and beef chilli tacos and they were just delicious.
Owner was a little stressed (short staffed) but friendly and the burritos/ tacos were both fantastic. Well worth the patience
Love Tacho Macho, lovely freshly made tachos. Great atmosphere with friendly service. Didn't have to wait long for food either. Great evening meal and can't wait to go back.
We’ve been here twice and it’s the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Exeter. I ate spicy nachos while my wife had tacos. There are various spice levels to choose from. It has an open kitchen so you can see the chef cook and he is very friendly. It is a little cozy place but could sometimes get quite crowded. The prices are very reasonable and the portions good. I wish they could deliver. I’d support this small business again 😄
It’s overall good quality of food. However, the portion is not justified to the price. The burrito which has actually decent size is about 10£ with toppings which is pricey for this kind of fast foods. But overall fresh ingredients and tasty.
When we used to live in Exeter and the shop was down on Fore street we used to go to Taco Macho regularly. Dropped into the new shop since we were visiting Exeter and I'm pretty sure the burritos are better than I remember! The only downside is that all other burritos will forever be a massive dissapointment because these ones are so good!
The new shop is lovely. Space to sit and eat and the same jumble of fun decor that the old shop had. You can see the food being prepped fresh for each order.
Worth being aware that the shop isn't always open at the times it says (much like the old shop was), we did swing by on Friday at about 12:40 and found it closed, but came back on Saturday with some friends and it was open.
We found this place by chance and decided to give it a try. The food was incredible. We tried almost everything on the menu, all was cooked perfectly. All food was freshly made and prepared in front of us and we found it fascinating watching the chief at work. The waitress was lovely and offered great service. Prices are extremely reasonable. Could not fault. Left feeling very full and satisfied. Will definitely be returning soon!
Food here is a must! Authentic Mexican food 👌👌
I had 3 soft tacos with spicy beef, just the right amount of heat with the option to heat it up more!
Chef/Owner is full of life for food, service was a bit slow and confused from the waitress.
Will definitely be going back.
