Our first visit here thanks to my husband receiving a gift voucher.

The waitress gave spot on advice on how many dishes to order between us. Everything we chose had amazing flavours was was cooked to perfection.

Service was great too.

Would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back

A really innovative set up - on the border between your Michelin star, 10 course tasting meals, and a regular 3 course meal. Amazing food. Go in, order a good 4 or 5 meals to share, and enjoy!

Ox and Finch has been making a name for itself ever since it opened. Food is served tapas style, so it's worthwhile visiting with someone who likes to share. Dishes come out when they are ready but we seemed to get a new one just as we were finishing our current plate, which worked really well.

We were very greedy and got 6 plates between us. We had rabbit terrine, paired with pear, and was moist and tasty. We then had chipolata sausages which were gloriously coated in honey, rosemary and grain mustard. I could have eaten these forever and licked the remaining honey mixture from the bowl! Seriously good. We then went onto squid, prawn, chorizo and morcilla with smoked paprika on sourdough. All was cooked well, with the squid avoiding becoming chewy. The sourdough was delicious and almost had a fried texture. The prawns and chorizo were equally yummy.

Probably the best dish came up next. Game sausage with potato gnocchi, pumpkin and chilli was imply sublime. Full of flavour and moreish. The gnocchi in particular were of an incredible standard. The game sausage was crumbled across the dish which kept it lighter than it may have been. Whilst I wouldn't often go for pumpkin, this was excellent. Moving on we then had roast Ayrshire parsnips with Ramsay bacon. The purée was the highlight of this plate, being surprisingly sweet and complemented the bacon beautifully. Finally, we had turkey, bacon and cranberry meatballs with red cabbage, bread sauce and a chestnut crumble. We'd really chosen this for our love of bread sauce but sadly I could barely fit anything else in. What I did manage was nice.

Sadly as we'd overstuffed ourselves we weren't able to try some of the delicious sounding desserts such as lemon and earl grey baked Alaska. Maybe next time, because there will be a next time.....and another.

I visited this place with my boyfriend who really loves its food. The restaurant is well decorated with good atmosphere. Waiters are friendly. We tried the ham hock croquettes which were delicious. The scallops and cauliflower purée - one of the best we have tasted. We loved everything about this place. I really want to try more from the menu. Must try!

I had a dinner at the Ox and Finch with my family yesterday. My friends have always been talking about its food. I didn’t really expect much but the food when arrived it was so well presented and tasted great. The food was of good quality. The service was quick and the prices were so reasonable. We had an incredible dinner. Thank you!

I went to this restaurant with my colleagues and the food they served was cooked just perfect, with perfect ingredients. We had scallops with cauliflower puree for lunch.  The food was tasty and healthy because it was so fresh. The desserts were very nice. I definitely recommend it to anybody

SFR   “I would like if I may to take you on a strange journey.”.
SFR crosses to his desk and fires up his laptop.
He selects a timeworn folder, from December 2014, full of old photos.  We see the title: "The Ox & Finch".  He looks at the images for a moment, fires up Microsoft Word to begin typing.  He puts on his reading glasses.

This stylish restaurant with its high ceilings, mood lighting and chilled atmosphere makes for a near perfect dining experience.

From the attentive front of house staff (offering a free glass of fizz to apologize for a slight table delay), down to the immaculate looking kitchen and interesting menu.

Plates are meant to be shared, which sets the stage for an exciting tasting event - allowing you to savor many different textures, flavours and smells.

There is also an extensive and carefully curated wine and drinks collection to compliment your culinary adventure.

The menu consists of six basic sections - snacks, cold starters/ cured meats, seafood, meat, vegetables and sweets. Portion sizes are sufficient to share between two people.

My favorite of the night was definitely the haddock with poached egg, as well as the delicious baked Alaska and coffee to finish - pretty fantastic.

Ox and Finch is a definite must for all of those who appreciate the complete dining experience - quality, style and value for money. Two thumbs up!

I know see where this Bib Gourmand came from- wow! Tapas style menu but not completely small plates. Excellent presentation, taste and service.

The frozen chips were the only let down and the price.

The street and pop-up food scene in Scotland right now is worth raving about. No more 30% meat content greasy burgers and more pulled pork with pomegranate. Names like Breaking Bread, Three Sisters Bake and Scoop are constantly on my radar. The former just opened a permanent restaurant in Glasgow called Ox & Finch. I learnt from social media that they are all about contemporary small dishes.

We phoned to book that morning and they only had 5pm tables left. Good sign. We took the early bird booking and first impressions were positive. The space is effortlessly cool, elegant but not pretentious.

They had run out of the wine that we ordered but our waiter was able to advise us on the other choices so we ended up with a quaffable white burgundy. White burgundy you say? The name doesn’t seem logical to me either but I’d never have chosen it myself so it was pleased.

We ordered bread with oil and, whilst we enjoyed the bread, wanted balsamic to go with it.

The scallops we ordered were presented beautifully, I love their crockery. They were smaller in size and Mr S thought a fourth wouldn’t have gone amiss as a reflection of that. The scallops and cauliflower puree had a nice flavour but the larda di colonnata didn’t add much. I wanted another dimension to the dish – something acidic maybe.

Ham hock and cheddar croquettes had been perfected. Lots of ham and a lovely crunch on the outside.

Another star dish was the hanger steak, mushrooms and onion rings. Each little element had been cooked with care & attention, and the hanger was flavourful.

House sausage with smoked ham hock beans was much, much better than expected. It was Mr S that chose it & one of those times in marriage when you decide to compromise. How exciting can sausages & beans be? Actually my husband was right because it was a solid dish. The homemade sausage was meaty & herby, and the beans were certainly not humdrum.

My favourite dish was crispy fried squid, chilli & orange salad. I have an affinity for squid anyway but the coating on this was extra crispy and the fresh orange cut through it. Slightly over seasoned in my opinion but I didn’t care. Saffron aioli was the perfect dip.

By this point I was stuffed to the gunnels. But we had been lusting after having dinner in Ox & Finch for a while so I wasn’t going to waste it. Bring on the dessert.

On of the desserts had popcorn so I instantly chose it. The menu said ‘dark chocolate cremeux, popcorn, peanuts & banana ice-cream’. Having no idea what cremeux was didn’t put me off- the kitchen had gained my confidence. We both swapped the banana ice-cream for vanilla & Mr S had his sans nuts. It was so fantastic that I ate the whole thing before remembering how full I was.

The restaurant changed their menu shortly after our visit so you won’t currently be able to get all of the above but I’m pretty sure that the dishes that you get will be made with skill. Their website writes that they are contemporary dining and I am happy to see a changing menu to fit the claim.

They have used their wealth of experience to open a place that Glasgow should be proud of.

Probably some of the best food I’ve had Tapas wise in awhile. The young lady who served us was absolutely fantastic. I mention that we had a dietary requirement. She took away the menu and marked off and cross stuff. Exactly what I could and couldn’t have, which is absolutely fantastic. There was absolutely no chance for any confusion as we’re going to occur Especially with the Shera menu where people just want to eat everybody else’s food. There was not going to be any mistakes. The food comes out as it is cooked. It was all hot, piping, hot, tasty and fresh. I felt like the food was all very reasonably priced between four of us. We spent over £140 which was very good. The chips were to dye for ….best dip ever.

Delightful find. Really lovely restaurant. The menu is tapas-style and food is brought when ready. It is ideal for sharing. Some cold dishes arrived immediately some of the hot dishes took a wee bit of time. Mixture of tastes and textures is superb. Booking in advance is probably essential especially for a larger group. Reasonably priced for the standard of food.

Celebrated my master’s degree there. My friend and I can definitely confirm that this is the best food we ever tried. Explosion of the tastes and something totally different. Things that you think do not go together, well in this restaurant they go perfectly well. Should definitely go there and book in advance. Also it is not expensive and try to try as many plates, I recommend to share the plates. Unfortunately we were so full and couldn’t try dessert, I heard that they are amazing as well.

Honestly the best food I’ve ever had! We booked here based on the positive reviews we read and managed to get a last minute booking on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is greatly, lovely atmosphere inside. Staff were all great and attended to us throughout to make sure we had everything needed. We were advanced on 6/7 dishes between 2 people which worked out to be plenty. We ordered 7 in total and didn’t leave much (could of happily had 6). Then we had a dessert each because it’d be rude not to! It’s tapas style, so you are served your dishes as and when they are ready. This means a couple may come out at once and then you get a break before the next. I really liked this as you could take your time when eating. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be heading back on my next visit to Glasgow 🙌🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Ox and Finch never ceases to amaze us both in terms of quality and service. The best thing about their dishes is how amazed you can be by the seemingly simplest of dishes. At our meal last night we decided to skip the sweets and ordered another plate of the fried artichokes with garlic yoghurt and burnt Aleppo butter as the flavours blew us away. In our mind this is the best restaurant in Glasgow and never disappoints.

We went for my Dad's 92nd birthday and we all had a great time. My parents found the menu a little difficult to understand the first time but when it was explained it was like tapas they got it. Each dish was both beautifully presented and delicious and justifies the 'bib gourmand' recognition the Ox and Finch has earned. Service was also brilliantly executed with the staff being kind and attentive - Dad's hearing is going a little and so they took the time to explain to him without any problem. The place had a lovely atmosphere and comfy seating. If I can add a very very minor improvement it would be that with the food being brought out as it's ready, keeps it at it's freshest, I'd prefer if it was all brought slightly closer together (say spread over 5 min rather than 15min) - this didn't spoil our enjoyment but would have allowed us to eat all plates together. Also make sure you save room for the deserts, they were all amazing, especially the bare bones chocolate mouse. Great food, service and value - definitely worth a visit.

Excellent food & service at reasonable prices! The menu is divided into sections, and each section has different portion size. Definitely ask your server to guide you through it! we got 5 plates for 2 people and were more than full! We got 3 starters, 1 main and 1 “side”. I definitely recommend the whipped feta dip and the pork cutlet. But everything on their menu is guaranteed to be delicious ! Will be back:)

Hands down our favorite restaurant in a 4 days stop in Glasgow. Every single thing that hit our table was spot on. We kept ordering because the flavors, presentation, & service were delightful. I would 10 out of 10 suggest making this a priority stop. But I would make a reservation before showing up it was busy!
