Star & Eagle Restaurant

Arrived in their restaurant/pub after a long walk. Amazing apple pie and lovely scone. The staff is extremely friendly!!! The lady who seems in charge is a helpful en genuinely lovely person, which clearly affects the staff in a good way. They’re all very kind. Calm and comforting atmosphere. Went back the day after for diner and the food was fresh and delightful! Would come back any day!

The staff were excellent, so very friendly, welcoming and extremely efficient. The bedroom was superb, bed was so lovely and comfy. Did not want to get up! The food was excellent well cooked and tasty. I remarkd at check in that in the battery in my key fob had "died" Lizzie's husband Scott kindly pit a new battery into it. I cannot thank them enough. Will definitely stay again.

The wonderful owners and staff at this great pub turned what could have been a nightmare of an evening and night into a brilliant evening. We were driving back from lunch on Sunday in thick snow, got to Goudhurst and the road conditions were so bad that we decided to stop at the Star & Eagle. All their rooms had been booked by other stranded guests but they made us understand that they wouldn't leave us stranded. Two rooms became available for us booked by guests who couldn't get to the pub because the roads were lethal late that night. We heard of others who were given staff rooms for the night. The following morning we set off after a delicious full English breakfast, smiles on our faces and full of gratitude. Nothing was too much bother, we couldn't have been in better hands, we can't thank the owners and staff enough, we wish you all a truly wonderful Christmas and we have baptised your pub the 5 stars and Eagle. Thank you thank you thank you we will be back.
