Bluethroat Bar

Alright, so looking at recent reviews I was in two-minds before deciding to go to this place for dinner and drinks (as I did not want to go anywhere in central london). I am glad I took a chance and visited it yesterday (22/09). The ambience is nice, low light setting makes it ideal for a date night or even catching up with friends for a drink or two. Talking about food, I loved the small plates concept, and getting 1 items from each section per person is ideal (you may want to skip sides). We tried mac and cheese, scallop pasta, cod and steak and everything was spot on, from presentation to how the flavours were build. Well done bluethroat team! Coming to the most important bit of this place - COCKTAILS, and they were delicious. We tried fliggin thyme, green tease and pink tickler; the moment you have first sip you know this stuff is made with premium ingredients. I loved the presentation simple and minimalist and focus was on quality. Had a good chat with the owner Landi along with other bartenders Francesco and Vincenzo and was easily impressed by their knowledge about everything that goes into cocktail, and their mixology skills - Yes, I did order a dry vodka martini with twist and I was the best on I had so far. Landi also mentioned that they have recently opened a sister bar in Brixton serving cocktails only and it's on top my list based on the experience me and wife had here. Overall, the staff was friendly and welcoming, food was great and the cocktails were amazing (I haven't seen or been to a better cocktail bar in Greenwich or Deptford than Bluethroat). Dropping 1 star for food, as their cocktails was the main focus of the night! Good Job Guys.. Looking forward to try Bluethroat Bar, Brixton. PS - Everyone, don't let negative reviews pull wool over your eyes, try this place, the staff really knows what they are doing, you can see and feel passion in their craftmanship i.e. mixology skills.

The most Amazing Place I have had the pleasure to experience in London. Starting from the staff, welcoming and absolutely knowledgeable, they took care of us from the beginning giving us the most of their expertise. Food was stunning, being italian we are quite demanding when It comes to food, that said I can say, If you come here you are going to wonder why people says you can't eat well in London, maybe they never came here. Least but not last the cocktail! OMG the research behing Is astonishing, the way they preparare It and serve It unbelievable. Francesco, the bartender, Is the Pearl of the Place, enchanting to Watch while working and extremely passionate about his job! The best experience ever!!!!!!

We don’t live in Deptford and it’s still up and coming so we didn’t want to expect too much. We were blown away by the food and drinks! Everything tasted and looked like some of the Mayfair places we’ve been to a lot. The vibe was lovely, interiors stylish, moody, and romantic, and we will definitely be back. If you’re after outstanding quality, sophisticated setting, yet welcoming vibe - this is the place to be.

It is true: Bluethroat Bar serves a delicious and inventive menu of cocktails (El Chapo being my personal fave!) but can we please talk about the food.... If it wasn't because of a recommendation by a friend, I would never have thought to eat at Bluethroat or consider that this 'bar' has a full dinner menu. It really does deserve the title of bar and restaurant and should be shouting its food offerings from the rooftops. I've eaten here 4 times now, ordered everything from the menu with friends, tapas-style, and the food is truly exquisite. There isn't one dish that has disappointed and many that I literally dream about until i next go back!! The food, prepared in an open kitchen, is high end and just as creative as their cocktails menu. Please go eat here - you won't regret it!

My husband and I decided to spontaneously go for dinner here last night and I’m so glad we did! Our server was actually the restaurant owner and he was incredibly personable and service-oriented. He’s also Albanian and as we have traveled around his country and loved it 😊, we had a great convo surrounding his homeland. The restaurant prices aren’t cheap, but not the most expensive. I got the baked goat cheese side plate with truffle oil and a thin Italian flatbread (like pappadam). Utterly delicious. As a main I got the black cod without the anchovy sauce. The portion size was perfect, the cod perfectly “meaty” and tender, and the Swiss chard and orzo a good blend. Not the most delicious meal I’ve had but very good! My husband got the steak and raved about it. His roasted potatoes on the plate were delicious but so wish there was more! He also felt sated after his meal. He got the millefeuille as a dessert and enjoyed it as well. I had a bite and it was perfectly crispy and light. He also enjoyed the espresso. We both had glasses of wine and kudos to the owner for deciding 175mL pours as standard! I had the Chenin blanc: it was alright but have had better wines. I would like see to greater glass selection: maybe an Albanian wine?! as I had delicious Albanian wine whence there. We’ll definitely return for other menu options: the prawn and scallop pasta intrigued us and I want to try the other cod main. Faleminderit!

Cocktails of a quality that I did not expect in Deptford. There's a finesse to the presentation , like the liquorice dot hanging in the middle of their 'Spiral' drink. The smoke filled cloche that covers the 'Go Figure' drink. The price suddenly is justified. The playlist, a mixture of Cuban. Rumba, jazz. It sets the mood so well. You can dance or chill to the beat. The food menu looked ambitious. The presentation was nice but the flavours were missing. Go here for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere.
