I miss this place so much 😭
Friendly staff and food is always excellent!
Food was very well presented and tasted excellent! The veggie tart was a little salty for my liking, but was still enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and professional, I'd be interested to know what role the students play - it was a flawless experience. I would recommend Lakeside Restaurant if you're looking for a sit down meal on campus.
First time for me, and it was a great experience! Venison was soft and delicious, and the sauce really complimented the dish. Great wine and attentive service. Very friendly cook came and talked with us about the dish. I honestly hope to go back as soon as possible
Wonderful service, staff kind, attentive and friendly to allergies (wheat, gluten and nut allergy). Seasonal menu. Food was 10/10!!!
Outstanding meals at extremely reasonable prices. The did served was of very high quality (from a nice menu of choices) and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
Impressive lunch - A trip to Japan on the tip of your tongue
Excellent food at incredibly good prices. The young people both preparing the food and providing service were excellent and very well supported when needed by their mentors who were not visible until required. Excellent for a working lunch with some truly original offerings on the menu. Their covid secure service left us feeling relaxed to enjoy both the food and our meeting. Would highly reccomend.
As a hospitality professional of many years, it was an absolute delight to dine at the schooling restaurant on campus. The student staff were very friendly and the menu was well appointed. Everything tasted fresh and had a professionals touch. Love visiting Lakeside restaurant and coffee shops when I’m visiting the campus of the University of Surrey.
Delicious and beautifully presented food.
The University of Surrey's rightly respected School of Hospitality and Tourism Management runs this classy restaurant (which, many years ago, was called the Teaching Restaurant). Here, students from the many disciplines within the School must put into practice the front-of-house and behind-the-scenes skills so necessary to a first-class career in the hospitality business.
My experience here was enhanced by being able to read the menus on-line beforehand, and the three-course lunch, plus wine and coffee, was served with modern, moderately haute-cuisine food and with an eye on our tight schedule. When one of the students looking after table-service did not quite know what to do, help quickly arrived; and the food was excellent throughout. On this occasion, we expected fine dining (not pub food quantities) and were pleased not only by the choice available but also by its presentation. Prices are astonishingly low. Reservations are required, as far as I can tell, and it is helpful if guests arrive on time.
Best and cheapest coffee on campus. Also had a loyalty scheme. Has a range of vegan and gotten free food. Nice soup everyday. Can follow them on twitter.
