Staff and owner were great, had good chat. Offered us specials off the menu, which was superb. Made me a traditional homemade chai that wasn’t generally available. Good fun all round, which is not often you’ll find.

Excellent food fantastic service. Party of 5 Inc 3 GF. Jamale the owner, said he would take our order and ensure the GF food was perfect, he did and it was. Really good night, attentive staff. Very busy, so got a bit noisy but good value for money. Even serve a choice of GF beers. Will definitely return.

Well!!! what can I say about this genuinely authentic punjabi restaurant.....absolutely Amazing, fabulous and the true taste of punjab. Jamil Asghar owner and chef was a gentleman and the perfect host to what turned out to be an evening to remember and led me on a culinary journey back to the heart of punjab. The food was truly magnificent. Often in so many so called Indian restaurants the food is altered to cater for the Western pallete, this couldn't be further from the truth at Shalimar. Chef Jamil Asghar stamps his humble roots on ever dish that comes out of the kitchen. His ethos is simple, cook with high quality top ingredients and don't retract from proper home good food. Nothing added, nothing taken away and you've got the Best Indian restaurant that keep customers returning again and again to sample the traditional taste of Punjab. I couldn't recommend this establishment enough and I am so looking forward to my next visit. All the staff were, polite, friendly and attentive. Thank you again for a trip back home to enjoy savouring my culinary roots.

Best Asian restaurant in Harrogate. The service was knowledgeable and attentive. We had 2 main dishes, the Dhunwander, and one off the menu which was a shin of beef. Both dishes were not too spicy, but actually delicious and plenty to share, plus enough left for a doggy bag.
