Very good McMullen's Brewery pub a few yards from Hertford East Railway Station. Three cask beers on handpump when I visited including a mild. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered in the lovely garden to the rear.
Good pub, locals banter. Formerly used by railwaymen of local depot. Some railway photos add ambience. Limited food availability.

2016 & August 2023: Cute dogs. Very quiet when I visited and we were the only ones on our side of the bar. The pub is almost divided in half.

It’s great that there are still a few pubs left like this, proper drinkers pubs for locals where everyone knows everyone. As an outsider I was made welcome and felt at home.
