One of the best meals I have eaten. The restaurant is beautiful; the staff attentive but not intrusive; and proof again, that the best French cuisine is found outside France. Thoroughly recommend.
We were traveling area the area and by accidentally found this restaurant via TripAdvisor. Without reservation, the staff were happily help us to get a table.
The menu was really interesting and made me and my partner really excited.
I ordered vegetarian dish and my partner ordered lamb. Both dishes were well cooked. The quantity of the dish were very decent.
They even offered warm bread which is very nice touch!
We were planning to just have main course, but end up had three course meals.
I read there were people complained about small dish compare to the price... really?
According to our dinning experiences with all top restaurants around country and abroad, Bouchon Bistrot is doing good job for what they offer.
People need to learn how to appreciate food before make nasty comment.
Bouchon is probably most famous from it’s appearance on Gordon Ramsay’s The F Word where it won “Best French Local Restaurant", an award that you can’t miss as you enter. It might have been a few years ago now but who wouldn’t shout about such a well-known accolade? We visit on dreary Autumn monday afternoon, but the restaurant is near full for lunch - not surprising with a an excellent value lunch menu offering 2/3 courses for £12.50/£13.95. Changing just about frequently enough, the menu is typical French fare, with uncomplica
Good food, good service and a relaxing environment with French style. We had a great evening and chose from the a la carte menu. The early evening/lunch menu looked great also.
Drinks were good as were the appetisers with the aperitifs.
Fabulous evening out to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We sat upstairs and the staff perfectly hit the balance between attentiveness and allowing us space to enjoy our meal. Both the young man with the fascinating tattoo and his female colleague were fabulous, friendly yet professional. The food was fabulous. This is my new favourite restaurant and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great evening with family in Bouchon. Enjoyed some lovingly prepared food, in a wonderful environment. Would thoroughly recommend *****
The restaurant was excellent. Very good staff who were knowledgeable and attentive. The food was wonderful. Well presented and delicious so it was as good to look at as it was to eat.
The wine menu was delightful although we were not adventurous in our selection. We ordered a la carte although the fixed price menus present excellent value for money.
I would recommend this restaurant and I look forward to visiting again as soon as I can.
A lovely French Bistro with good menu both a la carte and fixed. Fixed exceptionally reasonable. Evening meal for two w drinks came in at £77. For the quality well worth it. Will be back, again!
Lovely food and pleasant atmosphere. Apart from one (minor) wrong order the only downside is that its a bit pricey - there's better value dining of similar quality elsewhere, but it was still an enjoyable experience.
Nice meal can be expensive at £75 for two for lunch without any alcohol drinks. Another place that add 10% to the bill. French onion soup could of been better, main course (Lamb) was good.
I finally found a place that does amazing food and at a reasonable price
Driving from York was worth the effort. I wish there was somewhere nearer that was close to this level of dining, but nowhere in York comes close.
The escargot was cooked just right, the main meal was better than expected, I had the absolute best espresso martini I've ever had, and the molten chocolate cake was the right temperature.
The only reason this was not a five star experience is because our servers forgot about us several times during our dining experience to chat to other patrons they seemed to know. They also forgot to bring small requested items, such as an extra fork, butter for the bread, and still water.
Food was 5 stars. Service was 3.5 stars.
100% would return for the food.
Absolutely beautiful food and service, simply perfect evening definitely worth a visit
We were a party of 7 overall the food was excellent, however my brother and I both had the most expensive steak on the menu, Ribeye, both were fatty and chewed!! Not what you expect for nearly £26 each.
