Always come to this pub when up in the area, great meeting place with affordable beer, sports bar it's not but tries to be although lots of TVs in the right place if that's what you're after, staff friendly so always a bonus

Good vibrations here throughout my one and only trip on New Year's Eve. My two associates and I rocked up for several games of pool and a couple of Guinness. It wasn't too busy at this point. The guys and gals in, whilst clearly better then semi pro level on the drinking front overall, dished out zero negatively whatsoever. I imagine on a big fight or soccer night this is the place to be to watch the action on their good quality ultra HD tellies dotted around.

Lovely staff. We popped in with 2 kids and a dog on a random Tuesday we had off work, and the locals were very welcoming and accommodating. We had a game of bingo and a pint, great experience of a proper old school English boozer!

Friendly and cheap proper pub this. Lovely sunny beer garden out the back too. Pool table and multi-screens showing racing and other sports. Service was good and welcoming. Came back on all three nights i was in Hexham and felt relaxed after my days walking. Great to just watch the locals do there thing.

Full disclosure, it IS my local. But I had to leave a review tonight as I left particularly impressed with the efforts of the staff. They bent over backwards to make sure that people were accomodated for the first Toon game of the season, even suggesting alternatives when capacity meant they couldn't allow more in. Well worth a visit if ever in Hexham for the well priced pints and community feel!
