The Pigs looks beautiful with the seating outside and the lights ect, really welcoming. The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, not a single bad thing to say. We started with popcorn cockles, whitebait, salt beef and potted pork. Lovely size portions for sharing and so full of flavour. For main my husband had Ox cheek and I had pork and fennel pie. The ox cheek was so tender it melted in your mouth no need to chew lol, the gravy was thick and rich, we've never tasted anything as good as that. The pork and fennel pie was a lovely flavour, the sweetness of the fennel went so well with the pork and the pie was huge! For dessert we had chocolate torte and caramel apple crumble Sunday, they were both sooo good, the ultimate indulgence. Thanks to the pigs for such a wonderful evening.
Stayed at the pigs on Sunday 20 May 2018 with my husband for my 50th birthday, a gift from our children. We had the most amazing time! Warm welcome, fantastic room and facilities. Loved having own sauna, steam room and courtyard with fire pit to toast marshmallows (provided). Lovely evening meal and breakfast and a lovely visit to the spa/hot tub the next day. Was able to keep room a bit longer as spa was booked after checkout time which was a lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Can highly recommend for that special occasion.
