The Hunworth Bell

What a fabulous pub. The Sunday lunch was incredibly good. Far too many interesting things on the menu, which made it very hard to choose what to have. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was fantastic and there was a great atmosphere. Really dog friendly too. If only more pubs were like this. Very highly recommended

We went here with family on 15/2/24 to celebrate an anniversary. The food and service was lovely. Restaurant was clean and nice atmosphere.. It was super that the vegetables were added as part of the main meal ordered and not something we had to order separately which has been the case at other places we have visited . Lovely food ! The vegetable portions were exactly as we would have at home and not over or undercooked cooked , perfect !! Thank you so much! We will be back !

We were on holiday in the area and celebrating my girlfriends 40th birthday. The Hunworth Bell was recommended to us as a lovely location to eat at. Unfortunately their website was down when I was trying to look at what it was like and also to see their menu. I emailed them to ask about their menu, Sarah was quick to reply and was kind enough to email me copies. Their menu looked delicious with a good variety of vegetarian, vegan and dairy free options. We decided to eat here, 9 of us, inc baby, buggy and dog, Sarah fitted us into the bar area (where dogs are allowed). Sarah also facilitated me dropping off Birthday decorations before our reservation time. We were sat down and it felt really cosy, nicely lit, log burner on and there was a lovey atmosphere. We placed our drinks and food order, all came out promptly, was well presented, hot and tasted amazing. Albeit we were told it was a 2hr sitting (I surmise because its a busy Saturday night) we weren't at all rushed in anyway. To top it off the restaurant brought us out a nice little surprise at the end for my girlfriend and we all sang Happy Birthday (I hadn't forgotten to get her a cake, we had that Sunday, didn't want to miss the lovely desserts here.) Would highly recommend The Hunworth Bell, amazing food, very friendly staff, superb service.

Excellent restaurant, more than a cut above the rest in this area. Somewhat off the beaten track so you'll need a sat nav but well worth the effort. Imaginative menu and large portions. We had a huge goats cheese and beetroot salad and soused mackerel to start and excellent haddock and chips and chicken stuffed with black pudding for mains. Very attentive service and nice setting. Highly recommended
