Mum and I had a wonderful afternoon tea using a groupon voucher. Staff were attentive, the setting is lovely, and the food was plentiful a delicious. The warm mini Yorkshire pudding and warm pork pie were a great addition. Constant top up of tea and coffee, and a nice glass of bubbly. Would definitely recommend 😊✅

The food in this hotel is excellent. They have a new kitchen team apparently and food is tasty, portions are good. I have lobster ravioli which sounds almost pretentious, but it was delicious. My hubby finished off with a generous slice of white chocolate cheesecake. Mmmm. Breakfast is full English hot buffet. The staff were very friendly and in true Yorkshire fashion couldn't do enough for you, in a very genuine way. Our room was spacious and quite, spotlessly clean. The only real faults I could find are 1. I really wanted to sort the curtains out. It needs someone in the know to hang them better, or indeed make them look more professional. You may think that picky but they were very amateurish. 2. I am at a loss to know why all the shampoos, shower gels etc are still in single use plastic containers. I am so anti them and I am sure it could be cheaper to change this habit, with a bit of research. Overall though, a good place to stay.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. A thoroughly enjoyable three day stay. The breakfast was superb and the Staff were all so friendly and pleasant - particularly Emma, who served us breakfast and Joe in reception, who was so helpful. We shall definitely be visiting again - thank you all so much! Simon Ballard

We went here on a Travel Zoo deal midweek. Check in was very quick and friendly and the hotel has been redone to a very good standard. The room was top class and the restaurant and evening meal were both excellent. The bar was a little too much like someone's sitting room for me and a good cask ale wouldn't go amiss. The buffet breakfast was good apart from the fried eggs which were sat in a large pool of oil. The outside sitting/drinking/eating area was very pleasant and it's only a 10 minute walk to the town which has 2 very good pubs. Minor adjustments required for the 5th Star. Would definitely go back though. well done folks.

We bought a Groupon deal which was excellent value for money. We had a twin bedded room which was clean and spacious as was the en-suite bathroom. The food was delicious and there were generous portions. The location was fantastic, on the edge of the Yorkshire moors with its spectacular scenery, lakes and reservoirs. The staff were friendly polite and very helpful. Really enjoyes our stay. Thank you.

Lovely hotel, quiet comfortable room, nice clean white bedding (although pillows a little too hard for my personal preference) smart clean bathroom with lovely soft white towels and complementary toiletries. Cannot fault the staff, every single member was friendly, polite and helpful. Restaurant food very good and reasonably priced and the chef catered for myself (coeliac) without a problem, adapting meals to my requirement without any fuss or problem. Grounds well maintained and although I don't smoke myself, I believe it would possibly benefit from a cover over the smoking area as noted a number of people smoking/getting wet as it was raining. Would certainly recommend and visit again.

I stayed here last night for my birthday first of all can I say that the hotel is going through refurbishment and I'm sure when it's completed it will be back to its graceful self x The staff were fabulous could not do enough for you I was in room 38 which was lovely. The food in the hotel was amazing with generous sized portions and the breakfast was huge. I and my family had a great stay and as a travel agent can highly recommend the hotel and I'm sure when the renovation has finished will be lovely x

Nice hotel, decent food, lovely staff. Stayed for 1 night on Groupon deal, room was as expected, nice bed, clean as possible for an older hotel. Clearly working hard on improvements and the food was well done, breakfast was plentiful (buffet style) and good quality. I'd go back here.

Had a 2 night break here with my husband and my dog. First room we got was a bit small and very hot . Asked for a fan but instead was given an upgraded beautiful huge room. The staff are a credit to the hotel, really can't do enough for you especially Megan she was wonderful. The food was delicious everything cooked fresh and lots of it. Great hotel with beautiful grounds , perfect for your dog. Only one little problem I came across. There's no doggy poo bins in the grounds. I had to find a bin out on the road. A wee bit inconvenient. A discrete doggy bin would make all the difference. Apart from that it was wonderful would definitely recommend and return.
