Frankie & Benny's

The food is lovely and well presented, the pasta meatball was delicious though you can taste the herbs quite strongly in the meatballs. The reastraunts was clean and had a lovely atmosphere, it was also quite quitet at 9pm when we got their. The staff kept us waiting near the door for slightly longer than I would have liked though once we were seated they were very proficient and served our food and drinks quickly. It is definitely the perfect place to go out for a meal.

First time visiting Frankie and Benny's with a friend. We were politely welcomed to a seat and asked if we would like anything to drink before the waitress left. We asked for some time to decide what we wanted to order. The waitress returned promptly after serving customers who were ready to order. This was reasonable time for us. We then ordered drinks and two courses each. A starter and a main. The drinks were brought over in good time for us to settle and have a chat. The starters arrived not long after. My friend ordered a garlic bread pizza which he described as greasy but tasty. I decided to have the mozzarella dippers which tasted bland, even with the sauce. A couple of them were overcooked. For our mains we ordered a vegan burger with sweet potato fries and a plain 6oz burger with fries. The vegan burger was very tasty, however the sweet potato fries were slightly overcooked but still rather nice. The plain 6oz burger arrived : not plain. It had to be sent back and corrected. However my friend was pleased with it once it came back. We were rather full afterwards and decided to pass on trying a dessert. We asked for the tab and it came back to us at an incorrect amount. We soon realised they charged for a jug of the cocktail I ordered instead of a glass and 2 servings of coke. We brought this up to the waitress and she fixed the issue with the cocktail but informed us that because we ordered the coke from the main menu, instead of the side menu (even though they are the same price) that the refills would not be free. 7/10 food. 6/10 service. Wouldn't be somewhere I'd go back in a hurry as there are far superior eateries for similar prices.

The server/manager was fantastic. Such a lovely guy and really friendly. Drinks came quick which is normally the slowest thing. The mains was gorgeous - bit disappointed the cheese garlic bread isn't on the Christmas menu but my partner loves the doughballs anyway. The dessert was a bit stodgy and only half warmed up with a very over powering orange. However all this said the mains were cooked perfectly and were just gorgeous and the service was absolutely perfect.

Let me start off by saying, this review is based on the NEW menu that was released a few weeks ago. The food was overall 5 star, it was served to us on time, cooked to perfection and exactly as we ordered it. The portions where of a good size and well presented. As a side note: - The facilities where clean and fully stocked. - Our waitress “Kim“ was extremely polite and down to earth. She was always there when we needed something and got the orders spot on. - The price, well as you can see from the receipt, it was a bargain. We had 4x Coke, 2x mains, 2x Starters and a garlic pizza to share.

We visited on a very busy Saturday night, arriving without booking and the staff warned us there would be a 20 minute wait for a table. In the end it was about 15 minutes before we could be seated. We were quite lucky we arrived when we did as people arriving soon after were turned away as the place was just too busy. I would recommend booking if eating on a Saturday. The food did take some time to arrive, but that was to be expected with the restaurant so busy. The quality of the food was good as I would expect from F&Bs
