This is the best pub in the area for a pint in a friendly and warming atmosphere. When the sun's out then the beer garden is the place to be. It's a Marston pub so the beer is good and fairly priced. There's an open mic night with Live music and djs throughout the month. The staff are great and and the landlady is amazing. this is my local pub and I love spending time here either on a weekend when it's busy with Students or during the week having a pint with the locals. It's always a friendly place to be
The Queen's Hotel is an excellent pub at the top of Queens Road. With a large car park and plenty of outside seating and a marquee. Most importantly the beer an excellent range of beer, including several cask conditioned real ales, at excellent cheep prices . A large pub several rooms and offers accommodation. Highly recommended.
Didn't eat here so can't say about food as it was a Friday night and only dweebs eat in pubs on a Friday, good music bar staff are first class. Beer was banging. Nice seats tables a good size.
Absolutely loved this place anyway but the addition of the new assistant manager - Dave - has really elevated its status in my mind. His authoritative yet friendly manner reminds me of a young Ray Winston (without any hint of violence, of course).
My favourite pub bar none, makes me feel like Norm from Cheers.
Didn’t know pubs like this still existed! We had a life-affirming experience on Friday afternoon. Myself and the individual I care for just wanted a quiet, non-judgemental pint and a packet of crisps in a pub, after a poor experience at an establishment in the area, our day-out was salvaged with a few beers in the Queens. Shout out to Dave the barman, who helped us with the wheelchair access and free dog biscuits 🐶
It’s a local of mine but these guys took it to the next level when our Sunday league team came back after a game…. Superb service…. Incredible pork and stuffing sarnies…. And the staff went above and beyond. This pub was always a favourite of mine and it’s just been cemented!!! Thanks from all the lads at Cott Vets FC! 🙌
Great place to sit and chat with friends and enjoy a good selection of ales.
Friendly bar staff and a good mixture of age groups. Something for everyone! Nice beer garden to boot!

Great pub, lovely atmosphere and never have any trouble. Drinks are good but erm, they don't do food.
