This place was quiet when we called on a Friday evening and consequently lacking in atmosphere. It was modern and clean with a reasonably cosy feel and comfortable seating. Food appeared to be a traditional menu,we didn't eat, with reasonable prices. The pub doesn't serve crisps or peanuts but there is a pie warmer on the bar which seemed a bit incongrous with the boutique bistro vibe. Definitely worth a visit,it may liven up later in the evenings and has outside seating which catch the sun and face the square. Ideal for a sunny day.

The family run Pennine Hotel is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Shelley and team were so attentive and went out of their way to be helpful. Best breakfast we’ve had in the UK. Gorgeous rooms. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Lively pub, typically the younger local crowd visit. Service always good, meals pub style. Can be noisy at busy times.

The staff are absolutely gorgeous and so attentive!
We needed to change the baby’s nappy and they gave us a lovely room just to change the baby instead of going to the toilet.
Everyone including the owner are absolute legends!

Had a family meal for 7 this evening and it was outstanding. By far the best pub food I’ve had in a very long time. Both the quality of the meals and the service were equally impressive 10/10
