I've used this chippy a few times over the last few years and its pretty good. Service was good and food was excellent. I had Haddock and chips, the Haddock was cooked fresh and was perfect. Chips were a 9/10. Located on the corner of high street and Clasketgate.
Would recommend.

We ordered food through Uber Eats, and we requested mayo on one of the cheesy chips. They both came with mayo. We tried contacting through Uber eats to resolve it but they ignored it. Tried contacting Hunters itself but they didn’t bother …

As Uber won't let me leave detailed feedback, I've come here just to say what a rip off they are. I paid £1.50 for extra cheese on my kebab-- I'll let you be the judge whether this tiny amount looks like £1.50's worth, or even 20p's worth.

Popped in last night before going to the theatre. Fish and chips were freshly cooked and delicious. Member of staff was really nice and gave us a bottle of water each for free. We sat in to eat, the tables could have done with a clean but another guy came on duty and it was the first thing he did. Definitely would go here again.
