Staying at a Travelodge around the corner with no restaurant, I was looking for breakfast and saw this place. For my breakfast I had waffles and coffee. The young man who was serving was very welcoming and friendly. The place is open in the evening as well, and I went in with a friend to try a cocktail. On the way out we were introduced to the parents of the owner, a real family business.

Called in to Carlisi, impromptu, after an afternoon of shopping in Liverpool. Fabulous vibe - great music, v relaxing, nice surroundings. Had to wait a while for the food but in the meantime- good drinks menu, friendly staff and good setting. Food was well worth the wait. Fab lasagne and parmigiana. Would highly recommend a visit.

Came in after work feeling shattered. Never been in before but was greeted by a lovely member of staff. I ordered a smoothie which I thought was great at 3.50. I chose ginger, raspberry and passionfruit to make my custom smoothie. Was fantastic. Never planned to eat here but ordered the waffles. No regrets at all. Loved them too. Really cheered me up after a long week. Nice decor, staff, food and drink. Will be returning. Wish I'd have tipped with cash and not card though.

I had a last minute booking with my boyfriend on valentines night. All staff made us extremely welcome, they all go above and beyond for customers. The food and service was excellent. We have been a few times previously just for drinks on a Saturday night and had been made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Drinks are always lovely and atmosphere is always great. I struggle with anxiety especially in bars and busy restaurants but everyone is really welcoming and friendly so my anxiety isn’t even a thought! Cannot recommend this place enough!

Found this place completely by chance; we had just arrived in Liverpool, early afternoon, hungry. Walking past Carlisi, we saw three ladies inside enjoying what looked like the most delicious lunch. In we went and we were not disappointed. Wonderful warm welcome from the Italian owner who truly understands hospitality and how to make people feel completely at home. We shared generous and truly exceptional sourdough bruschettas: one with Parma ham, manchego cheese, tomatoes and Blasamic vinegar, and the other with Burrata cheese, smoked salmon and cucumber. Made and served with love we felt. These, plus a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio Blush and two espressos came to £25.50 – great value for money. So good to be somewhere that is not part of a chain; they work hard and deserve to do well. PS – we got talking to the three friends who had inspired us to go in; it turned out they were in Liverpool to see an exhibition at The Walker Gallery ‘A Liverpool Lady’s Clothes 1900 – 1940’ It sounded fascinating so we went, and it was!

Carlisi is just the best Italian Coffee joint and fooderie in Liverpool. It is the real deal Italian and the coffee is pure black and white velvet ....... it is smooth. And they open till late every day and have a Jazz Night ....... head to Dale Street and check this joint out. Seriously super and the staff are pure geniuses ..... you'll see when you order!!!

We often call in for a coffee and something to eat before visiting the theatre as it is convenient for the Playhouse. Enjoyed the meat and cheese board and a Greek salad. Always fresh food, well presented and served by friendly staff. Very reasonable prices.

Wonderful atmospheric little Italian restaurant in a part of town which doesn’t get much foot traffic - yet every time we have been the place is buzzing. There are always lots of Italians eating and drinking so it makes us think we are abroad on holiday! V high quality Italian meets and cheeses and amazing cocktails too - especially Negroni and Espresso Martini 👍👍👏 Alessio the owner is a wonderful host - nothing is too much trouble for him You always have service with a big smile too 😊 The aubergine parmigiana is fantastic too. Great to be in an independent restaurant which is thriving - we love it

We noticed this place as we were heading to a good night's sleep to our hotel and we liked the cozy, friendly atmosphere. At first, it seemed like a bakery but we decided to get inside for a last drink. Fortunately it was well well worth it. The people there were very friendly, the music was good and we had a great time. It also serves snacks which seemed delicious but we didn't have one as it was fairly late.

Usually I don't leave reviews: I have to experience something exceptional before I feel it is right to recommend somewhere. Avoiding clichés, all I can say is that this restaurant / bar is magnificent. The finest ingredients are assembled simply with understanding, confidence and pride. Alessio exudes great hospitality and warmth to all his guests. It feels like you have wandered into his living room: easy chat and a love of stories convince you that you've rediscovered an old friend. For selfish reasons I'm sorry that my review may make Carlisi even more popular, but it is worth prioritising a trip here.

Absolutely love the Carlisi brothers and what they have brought to Liverpool. They are the most genuine and lovely people and their passion just shows in how good their shop is. I have been on numerous occasions, for a coffee, lunch, birthday celebrations and they never fail . Lovely atmosphere feels like you are with friends.Would highly recommend !

Authentic southern Italian food and hospitality- we popped in here for a light late evening meal. From the welcome to the goodbyes this place is true to the spirit of southern Italy. The food was fresh and the coffee amazing. There was some live music (possibly a little too loud but only a touch, we could still easily have a conversation). The cannoli was the best we have had outside Calabria. Thanks for a great visit. Ciao!

I tried salmon&buratta bruschetta, parmeggano main meal, white wine and canollo with coffee - all were delightful! The price was ~22p. The stuff are Italians with charming style and nice sense of humor. As for the weaknesses... The Xmas lights were a bit too bright :) Highly recommended!

Went here for the first time and it was a great experience. One of the owners was very helpful in his recommendations of the food. Ended up getting a very nice fresh sandwich and a amazing pastry and I’ll definitely be back to this vibrant Italian cafe
