Visited this little Gem this morning after not coming for a fair few months. Completely impressed as usual with the amazing variety of Vegan options, and the standard of food too. Staff are absolutely lovely and more than happy to help with anything. Non Pretentious local gem, with amazing value for money. Loooove this gaff!

Had only been here once before, some years back when it was veggie. We decided to pop in for brunch on our way to going for a weekend away. It was lovely, I had a philly cheese 'beef' steak toastie which was delicious and very filling. My husband had a hot dog, he is neither veggie /vegan but said it was delicious. Lovely friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. I don't understand anybody wanting to give a negative review of this lovely little gem. Would visit more often but it is not that close by sadly. Keep doing what you're doing and ignore the haters 👍

I really struggle with choice - vegans so rarely get the opportunity! Spent more time choosing than eating. Scrambled tofu was excellent, guacamole garlicky and scrumptious. Staff really considerate too - helped us find a seat downstairs. The place was full and buzzing, so we had to wait a while for our food - but it was worth it!

Really enjoyed the food and ambience in here. The decor is cute, quirky and cosy. Staff were pleasant and I really loved the overall vibe of the place. The only downside is it’s quite cramped and there’s not much room for a Pram but other than that it’s a really lovely cafe and I will make a return visit.

I’ve often walked past this place and thought about visiting but was a bit sceptical of a vegan (don’t mind vegetarian) cafe. From the outside it looks too small for my young family who can’t sit still, so I came alone for a rare treat of a meal and relax and time to myself. I wasn’t disappointed. The building is beautiful and the environment is relaxing. I had the big breakfast as I wanted to try the scrambled tofu, and it was all delicious. The coffee with oat milk was creamy and smooth, so I went straight to Sainsburys to buy oat milk! I will be trying scrambled tofu at home too. I would come again for some alone time, which unfortunately is rare and not guilt free! I have give 4 instead of 5 purely because although I know a young family would be welcomed here I think a little kids corner or basket of toys would really help.

I come here fairly often and I've never been disappointed! I'm not vegan but everything I've ever had here has tasted delicious, not just good 'for vegan food'.The staff are always friendly and it's an asset to Woolton village. Highly recommend!

I have visited this cafe on a number of occasions and have always received excellent service. The coffee is lovely and their range of snacks is both varied and delicious.

Its so refreshing to be able to order vegan cakes that taste amazing. So many places offer a rubbish vegan option. It's my guilty pleasure now !! Its a must visit.

Lovely little place, great idea could be a bit more comfortable in there. You can buy vegan stuff too take away like cakes etc which is also great

Top quality place for vegans and all others, the people are really lovely, nice and serve the best vegan food, a gorgeous little building in the heart of woolton one of the finest villages full of history. I do hope they open more shops maybe bigger ones as it's quite popular and only a small space. Good luck to these guys they do an outstanding job on the cooking and preparing

Absolutely delightful little cafe with a lovely homely feel. Food and hot drinks were delicious. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier. And to top it all I’m not even Vegan! I’d taken my sister in law (who is) on a recommendation from a friend. Well worth a visit!

My sister & I met up in Liverpool for a gig on Friday night. So on Saturday morning we were looking for a nice place to have a brunch before heading off to our homes. I found The Old Hardware Shop via TripAdvisor and we decided to give it a go. BTW I would class myself as a foodie, though definitely not a Vegan. I also always prefer to support independent cafes etc. so it was a good choice and we were glad we did. When we arrived we got the final table (they fit a lot of tables in a very small space, but it didn't feel like the noise of other conversations impinged on us). I will be honest, my preference for cooking or eating either vegetarian or vegan food is for dishes that were designed to be meat/dairy free (I'm the same with gluten free options), so instead of trying to mimic missing ingredients, they celebrate the ones that they are using. For that reason, I was personally disappointed that so much of the menu seemed to be made up of things like vegan cheese, vegan bacon etc. But that is a personal preference of mine. In then end I settled on the special which was a delightful tomato & mushroom tasting dish. It included vegan chorizo & feta. The dish didn't need them, although I can understand why visually it benefitted from the feta. My sister ordered the falafel sandwich & I think we both agreed mine was the tastier (hint move it from the specials to the main menu ;-) ). The only other, slight, gripe was how long it took from ordering to the food arriving. A heads up earlier in the wait would have been appreciated. But the staff were lovely, the food was amazing value and I would very happily return. Thank you.

Called on for a sandwich take out whilst cycling in the area. Staff brought sandwich across road to beer garden when ready. The falafel sandwich was very tasty and filling. Would recommend. Great food and great customer service.

We came here for a change and to experience a new cafe, after reading some great reviews. We weren't disappointed. This is a great relaxing place to come. The atmosphere is chilled, the staff are very friendly and attentive, the service is great. And the food on offer is fantastic, from breakfasts, through hot dogs and burgers, to more healthy salad bowls, and a fine range of glorious cakes to finish off with. The price of this food is great value, and you can also donate your change to help give food and drink to a homeless person. Ethical, family run, great home cooking, relaxing place to be - there's a lot to attract you to this venue. And after - there are many other reasons to come here. The Woolton Cinema is an experience in itself if you've never been there, Eleanor Rigby's grave is around the back, Woolton Woods are nearby, and many other things to do and see. So take a moment to look a bit further out of town, it's well worth the effort!

I took my goddaughter for lunch for her birthday. I hadn't been before, but found it online as she's a vegetarian. I was SO impressed. The atmosphere is fun and modern and the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is superb - we were spoilt for choice - and the food was so tasty. I'm not a vegan but I'll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it.
