Visited here for a family birthday in August. The staff were really welcoming, there was a buzzy atmosphere as the football was on but didn't interrupt our meal. I ordered cheesy garlic bread which was possibly the nicest I've ever had, and fillet steak, which was cooked perfectly. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough and it's in a great location with loads of gorgeous pubs on the road for after dinner drinks.
Only go for Sunday lunch. The decor is lacking but it's friendly and clean. The menu's a bit of an odd mix and food is ok. However, it does a great Sunday for cheap but you have to get there before 3pm.
Go to marantos on a fairly regular basis and would strongly recommend Staff really pleasant and food is lovelly
It's a welcoming resturant in an informal setting with a wide variety of food at an affordable price. 4. Stars.
Went to Marantos for wife's 40th Birthday get together with family. All in all a Really great evening. Wide variety of food on menu at average prices. Staff really friendly and nothing to much trouble. Recommend reserving a table if large group are to dine other wise just turn up and enjoy!! Am sure you will enjoy as did all of us. Will sure to be re. Visiting in near future 5 stars xxxxx
Absolutely fantastic. Couldn't fault the food. Staff so friendly and helpful explaining what was in the food. Services quick. Beautiful decorative woodwork. Brilliant as a couple or as a party . Advice to book in advance. Its a must on lark lane
Lovely place with excellent atmosphere. Bar upstairs and dining downstairs made the whole venue feel like a big, family get together.
The staff were as attentive, professional and maintained a relaxed atmosphere. We were never without drinks or waiting too long for food.
Food was generally of a high quality with good portion size for the cost. Plenty of veggie options to choose from.
I had the cauliflower 'wings' to start (amazing and not too filling). For main I had butternut squash and crispy sage risotto (delicious, could have used more sage to break up the softness of the risotto a little more). Dessert was an oreo cheesecake (my own fault for being greedy, massive portion, but very tasty!)
One suggestion to improve-
The menu was super extensive which seemed to overface some of the people I was dining with- maybe a different format (book style with pages allocated to pizza, pasta, burgers etc).
Overall one of the many gems sitting on Lark Lane, well worth the visit!
I tried this out tonight for first time and overall I'm really impressed!
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. It seems to have a classic sort of feel, and certainly is family friendly.
My friend (who's vegetarian) commented on how many options there were for her. Which is something to think about if meat isn't your thing. I stuck with the double bacon burger, and oh my they weren't lying about the double. It was huge! I could tell it had all been made from scratch and the seasonings were spot on! Excellent portion size. I barely finished it. I do think it was quite a long wait which is why it gets 4 and not 5 stars.
When the bill came I was surprised thinking it would be more. Excellent value!
I'd definitely come back!
Wonderful food, wonderful staff and such a good place to spend time with friends and loved ones.
The food was delicious, they had loads of options for everyone, the waiters were really nice and if u Don't finish your food you can take it home. Would definitely recommend, 6 stars is I could.
Love the place, one of my old haunts, food good, staff helpful & friendly
As usual we had a good Italian meal on Sunday evening. The cooking was excellent and the service first rate. We would recommend Marantos to anyone visiting Lark Lane.
