Quaint little place, like being in someone’s house. Very pleasant helpful staff. Food tapas style or served as main meals. I had chicken/chorizo kebab and cold meat platter with olives an bread. Very tasty. Had Vinho Verde wine £20 bottle. Followed by orange & chocolate crepe, delicious. Would visit again and recommend!

Wonderful restaurant & I am a nightmare for eating out as I love to cook, the menu is small & the place itself is intimate, it’s just perfect, I think some reviews say it is like being in someone’s home. You basically are it’s wonderful. The food is perfect, favouring quality over quantity. Just a really nice place to eat have been back multiple times & will go again. Plus the outside space is a bit of a hidden gem right in the city centre.
Wow, what an amazing place! Small family run business with outstanding quality and perfection!
Looks and feels like a snug home away from home. I had the chance of speaking with the owner and he's awesome! From what I've heard, he even organises barbecues in the summer, now that's something I won't be missing out on!!
Food tastes absolutely fantastic! If you don't know what to get just let the staff make the choice, you won't regret it!
Can be a tad expensive but just like the saying goes 'you get what you pay for'!
I highly recommend!
Very nice food. Francesinhas are excellent with the sausages very tasty and the sauce delicious. The cheese is also excellent. This is the best sandwich in the world and you can eat it here. You can also drink delicious vinha verde (green wine). Genuine Portuguese food and very well done. You can also eat in a very pretty garden, ideal for summer
Beautiful little hidden gem with freshly made delights to order.. wonderful host Mary and her partner who explained each dish in detail! Do not miss this wonderful little gem! We will be back x x
Hey all,
Me and my wife went to this small Portuguese restaurant during this bank holidays, and we ordered some main food and drinks. The waitress was very friendly and caring , and when we chose to eat in the small garden, she continuous asking us for be moving inside, but we rejected as it was so nice having dinner in that little garden. After 1 h, the Chef brought our food and was apologetic for the long waiting ,and very approachable. The food was superb and I can say the potatoes were the best I ever eaten. It is understandable the long waiting as it was only 3 people working, we did not ordered any starter and it seems to be prepared on that moment. I recommend to the restaurant to add an extra stick on the Kebab option for 2-3 pound. That can make a difference!
This is my favourite spot in all of Liverpool. The restaurant is extremely cozy,
as if you’re walking into your aunt’s dining room for a family get together.
The menu has a very wide range of different food from across the Portuguese cuisine. I got two tapas which were incredibly well prepared. To finish the evening I had a Nata, which is a must-have during any visit here.
The staff were incredibly kind, and truly felt happy to talk about and share the experience of food. Please take an evening to visit this wonderful hidden gem.
Me & my husband accidentally found this hidden gem yesterday after an appointment.
We were warmly greeted by the owners whom showed up the lovely courtyard full of flowers and a water fountain the sun was out and I felt as-if I was abroad.
We had a glass of house wine each which was good 😊
Then we ordered a tapas board the waitress as very informative and told us about all the produce being authentic Portuguese.
I then had the sardines with boiled potatoes which was very tasty my only regret it was that I couldn’t finish my plate as I had over indulged on the lovely bread and olive oil.
If you like authenticity and real Portuguese dishes this is for you.
Overall me and my husband had a really nice afternoon.
Thank-you to the owners.
Fantastic family restaurant with freshly prepared high quality food.
This place is a little gem tucked away at the back of another food outlet
with a quaint garden filled with the owners handmade art.
My wife and I went to Cafe Porto in October and had a fantastic meal out in the garden. The owner Pedro and his team prepare all there own food and his wife kindly explained the origin of the dishes to us which was most interesting.
There are some fantastic Portuguese dishes to try and delicious puddings. The house wine was also of a very high standard and as with the food, is all chosen carefully by the owners.
We hope to come back to Liverpool again and Cafe Porto will most definitely be on the list of places to re-visit.
Thank you all for a very pleasant afternoon you made us so welcome.
Such a lovely find!
My mum and I really enjoyed the meal we had at Cafe Porto. The restaurant was so cozy and really homely. The food was amazing with such a relaxed atmosphere.
Mary, Gwen and Pedro did a marvellous job in making that evening a wonderful experience.
We look forward to returning soon. Thank you.
A delightful Portuguese restaurant. Superb food, wonderful garden at the rear, excellent service. The grilled sardines were particularly memorable. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing food and ambiance, had a great time and the owners were so accommodating!! The garden was gorgeous, couldn’t recommend enough!
Amazing and proper tasting Portuguese food. Mary was a dote, so friendly, so welcoming!
