Definetelly the best Turkish restaurant in London not sure why Liman gets all the hype but anyways Kazan's signature is great meat dishes and I highly recommend trying lamb. Desserts are nice and so are the starters. The highlight is - impeccable service which is something hard to come by even in a high end restaurants. P.S. portions are huge so go hungry or share.
Definitely one of the best Turkish restaurants I've ever been!
Good: Very good variety of food, great range of choices from lamb, beef, chicken, vegetarian or seafood, some very special starters and definitely unique dessert choices.
Had Ottoman grill, which gives a range of grilled chicken, lamb and lamb chop, beautiful salad with pomegranate, and gentle portion of rice. All grilled bits cooked to perfection, very tender, and you can see how juicy they are the moment you put your knife onto them, lamb chops grilled to fantastic medium, and all kept warm until you finish your last bite. The chilli sauce is a must with grills if you can tolerate mild spice.
Assorted dessert plate is a good one if you cannot decide which one to have, will give you a variety of try pieces. Otherwise Turkish Syllabub is definitely on top of dessert list with raspberry soaked in cherry brandy served with magnificent Cointreau and orange blossom syllabub.
Very nice and friendly staff, always serve with a smile. Very unique decorations, and very clean, including WC.
Not so good: Cannot find any.
Booking is recommended, dinner opens from 5.30pm and multiple groups of people (both with and without booking) already presented at door, can get very busy at prime time.
You know that moment when new friends start to feel like old friends? The people who you meet at a new job or something? At first it’s all super politeness and trying to make a good impression…but a few proseccos down the line you start to feel really relaxed in their company and everything feels easy as if you’ve known them forever?
A Turkish establishment with an "Ottoman" menu. It attempts to be rather grandiose and with all the meat on offer it kind of is. The most enjoyable though is the mezze starter platter for two. All the elements on the plate were fresh and tasty - highly recommend this dish. I had the Kazan special, various cuts of meat on a spicy tomato sauce atop a bread. It arrived under a golden cloche and the presentation was all rather impressive. However, mid-way through, the bread became too soggy to be palatable, the sauce overpowered the meat (which was otherwise well cooked) and it was a bit of a let down after the starter. The waitress also failed to tell us that two of the dishes we had ordered were not available that day and so we had to wait a while until everyone's newly ordered mains were ready. To make up for the error they offered us some sweets at the end and free mint tea. Overall, it was ok.
Amazing food! Vegetable soup is soo good!! The chicken and fish were amazing! Ate here twice during my 12 day stay in London. Pricey but worth it! It's romantic and the staff are very good! Sadly, I didn't take pictures of my first trip.
Middle Eastern food is one of my weaknesses. I’m not talking a dirty kebab on my way home after a big night (although that also has its merits), but rather a selection of mezzes, preferably including as many dips as possible. Kazan has a lovely moody atmosphere, with plenty of lamps and soft furnishings. It feels themed but without being over-the-top. This is definitely a date night venue, especially if you can nab one of the cozy corners like we did.
Kazan’s a place that I’ve been to again and again, ordered similar dishes every time and not been disappointed once. Not even slightly. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant itself has a really intimate, eastern (clichéd though that sounds!) feel. The service could be slightly more prompt but, with so many covers, it’s a slight oversight that I am more than happy to overlook.
I start every time with their amazing Mixed Mezze Platter. The falafels are fluffy, the baba ganoush smoky and the tabbouleh satisfying sharp and herby against the creamy humus. Needless to say the grilled hellimi (halloumi to you and me) is utterly indulgent salty deliciousness.
To follow it has to be the Kazu Tandir, which is a slow cooked lambs shoulder pulled apart and sat on top of a flatbread that soaks up all of the sweet juices. The Spinach Sauté is a great little medley of spinach, onion and tomato, and their homemade chilli sauce provides the hot, sour, spicy and sweet kick to round the whole dish off.
In terms of wine, it’s not great but this is really, really well executed and tasty food. Whilst it’s not cheap, it doesn’t break the bank and would be a perfect location to wine and dine a lucky partner or to go out to celebrate a special occasion.

The mains menu offered an appetising choice of grilled meats and fish dishes, but I was drawn to the vegetarian menu due to the Hellimi kebab – a Hellimi and mixed vegetable skewer, chargrilled served with bulgar (£12.95). The chefs had cooked the Halloumi cheese just right – not too chewy or salty and the chargrill really brought our the flavour.
Juicy Ottoman cuisine. We ordered two main dishes from the "grill" section and we were very pleased with that.
The meat quality is high, extremely tender and spiced to perfection. At Kazan, the environment is smart, they offer a fine standard of service and pay attention at all details. Overall Kazan isn't cheap but the location and the atmosphere are totally different to most Turkish houses in East London.
I'd love to experience more of its succulent dishes in the near future. Recommended.
Great lamb and rice simple but rich flavour. Lamb sish was great. Try it with the chilli sauce: flavourful and not too hot
Lovely Authentic Turkish restaurant, Good for big and small group. The food was amazing very tasty and good portions. I personally loved the Hallimi cheese. The service was friendly and professional. Definitely coming back.
The perfect place for a Pre-Theatre meal and authentic Turkish cuisine! Be sure to arrive before 18:30 to try this special menu (£22). Choice of starters and mains and the dessert is a medley of Kazan’s best deserts. Super value, cosy deco and friendly staff.
Our early evening pre-theatre meal was excellent. The restaurant hadn't really got going for the evening so it wasn't as buzzing as usual and service was quite relaxed. Food was good value.
Excellent set of mezze with humous being particularly good.
I'd go back if in the area.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Food is average compared to prices. We had a nice time.
Food was good and the service was friendly and quick. Recommended.
Busy middle Eastern restaurant near Victoria.
Lovely friendly staff and yours never under pressure.
Good was amazing. Genuine good menu.
Tasted amazing.
Good alcohol selection too which is not always common in such restaurants.
Very well done. Will be back
Hands Down Best Turkish Restaurant in Town
The Liver is to die for
The Signature dish (iskandar) YUM !
Quality food like no other in London.
The Service and Hospitality is exceptional, can't ask for a better experience. It has been my go to place every time I'm in town.
Great service and a cozy ambience. They have an amazing variety of food on their menu. The mezze was delicious with fresh tasting dips.
Food lacked a bit in flavour but the quality was very good.
The service was great, the food delicious and the ambiance was inviting.
Seriously some of the best food I’ve eaten. Like. Ever. We did the Ottoman Feast and it was insane! Every dish was superb and the service was incredible. Easily one of the top 5 restaurants I’ve eaten at during my years of traveling.
