Amazing tasty food and really friendly service. I've been 4-5 times now and couldn't fault it! Will be back again. Recommend the Kanpoolgi (깐풀기)!

We loved this place! The food was so tasty! The atmosphere is nice, and service is kind. They also helped us drawing a map for our next stop. Thank you, we will definitely come back!!

Oftentimes when I need some comfort, I find myself in dire need of Seoul food. Har har. Seriously, when things aren’t quite right, my craving for jap chae, KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), tteokbokki, gochujang and an indoor barbecue shoots up. Enter Asadal in Holborn. MD and I went for post-work rant catch up. Instead of going a la carte we went for the Special Set which, let me tell you, was a HEAP LOAD of food.

Largest and best Korean restaurant london. Over the last few years, I have regularly met with friends and family from Korea, China, United States, and Europe at the ASADAL restaurant. Now we meet at the new ASADAL at Holborn tube station. We are always craving its great and high quality Korean food, but also to share time together in an atmosphere that reminds us of Korea. For some of my friends and family, it is their first exposure to Korean food, others are really connoisseurs but invariably ASADAL is definitely our favourite Korean restaurant. Some of our favourite dishes are:

Starter:
· Japchae (sweat potato /glass noodles with stir-fried vegetables)
· Handmade mandu (dumplings)
· Nice and almost crispy Pacheon (Korean pancake)
· Sae-woo-twe-gim - delicious type of King Tiger prawns and vegetable tempura to dip in a special sauce
· Kan-poong-gi - sweet and spicy fried chicken
Main course:
· Bibimpap (they have several varieties: normal, with raw meat or raw fish) and you can ask the level of spiciness
· Our favourite is the creamy sundubu chigae (soft tofu soup with seafood) or kimchi chigae (kimchi soup)
· Bulgogi (Korean barbecue). It is even better with Sang-chu that's the fresh leaves of lettuce and Korean bean paste
· Dak-galbi, that's the spicy marinated chicken with vegetables that they cook at your table

Dessert:
· Fresh fruits always cut in a special way
· Children (and adults) also enjoy ice cream
· Alternatively, they have the sik hae or Korean sweet rice punch

Note that ASADAL also accommodates for our vegetarian friends. It is easily identifiable on the menu, but to make sure I always notify the waiter/waitress.

The restaurant can accommodate large crowds. It is possible to eat within the intimacy of our own group of people at a very large table. There are dividers and even free private rooms.

ASADAL is a child-friendly place. Children love tasting the food, especially when there is a large table full of different dishes and they can pick and choose what they like in the portion that suits them. ASADAL has special seats, small forks and small spoons for children, and the staff are always happy to help. They also have facilities to change the babies. There is a place near the table to place the buggy or other luggages. It is much larger than it appears from the outside and it is easily accessible for families and people with mobility difficulties as there is a lift. I heartily recommend it, as it is our favourite restaurant!!! Ms. Lee

But in all its charming, awkward weirdness, Asadal’s a safe bet. And some times, that’s exactly what you want.

Located literally next to Holborn station the whole restaurant is located in the basement. Walking down the stairs from the mayhem of people entering / exiting the station, it was like entering a different world. An oasis of Korean calm with the thoughtful combination of dark wood and subdued lighting creating a stylish place to dine in. On both occasions the food was excellent. My favourite dish was the yukwhe bibimbap as the beef was good and it actually

Asadal is a Korean restaurant tucked away in a cellar next to Holborn tube station. The atmosphere feels quite intimate and discreet due to the ambient spotlighting and well spaced tables. The wooden furnishings and classic Korean paintings give t

Due to the seemingly never ending rain in London it’s always handy to find a restaurant as close to a tube station as possible. Luckily Asadal is close to Holborn Tube, in fact walk out of the station and turn right now stop, one more step and you’ll miss it

Not that I’m ever dubious about a single door being the frontage to a restaurant but the entrance doesn’t look very appealing. I did wonder about going in but then out popped a group of super-duper-über-cool Korean kids to smoke. Although I couldn’t understand a word they were saying it was obvious they were having a damn good time.

I walked through the door and down the staircase leading to the restaurant and I was greeted with a different but just as exciting buzz as found at street level. We were swiftly taken to a table (we hadn’t booked and this was Saturday night) and I soon had an excellent ice cold Korean Hite lager in my hand.

So to the menu. Now I’m a big fan of KFC, no not that kind, I’m talking Kan Poong Gi or Korean fried chicken so to start that was a must. It arrived crispy, moreish and freshly prepared with a delicious coating of sauce. Really tasty and something I would like to perfect making at home as it’s just so good!

We also got Kimchi (pickled cabbage)) for the table and it had that same freshly homemade feel as the chicken. It had a beautiful spiciness and left just enough of that cured cabbage aroma on the palate to be an absolute pleasure for the senses.

I had already clocked the centrepiece set in the middle of the table, a mini grill! We wanted to make good use of this so ordered one of their barbeque dishes Gal Bi (marinated beef short rib) and the recommended dishes to go with it Sang Chu (lettuce and bean paste) and Pa Seng Che (spring onion in sesame oil and chilli).

Our waitress turned on our table grill and carefully placed on the meat coming back every couple of minutes to turn it, I love a bit of theatre at dinner! Let’s hope it’s worth the effort.

It certainly didn’t disappoint as getting involved in making the dish by building lettuce rolls filled with the succulent beef and additional bean paste and onion was fun, but most importantly the blend of fresh, spicy and meaty flavours worked so well we all just wanted more and more.

I can see why this is a hangout for those cool Korean kids when in London as it feels like a lot of care and attention has gone into making home style Korean food. When food is made with love it shows and at Asadai it shines through.

I would recommend you go eat at Asadai whether you have eaten their before or not, because it’s simply a fine example of good, honest Korean food.

You can't really ever go wrong with Korean Bbq. And asadal lives up to my high Asian expectations.

It's centrally located but the entrance is small- a narrow stairway leading to a basement level: it's easy to miss!

Food is excellent. in true Korean style, the BBQ dishes come with an assortment of complimentary sides, usually an assortment of kimchi. You can choose whether to cook the meats on the inbuilt table grill yourself or have a waiter do the work for you.

My favourite dishes include the pork belly and marinated pork. You won't regret it!

'Don't judge a book by it's cover' definitely applies here. Situated literally next door to Holborn Tube, when we arrived I had to wonder about my friend's sanity for recommending this place as the perfect going away dinner for another close friend of ours.
I was so wrong! When you walk down the stairs immediately you see why this place is a gem of a find. I would personally quite easily have just walked straight past without a second thought.

The interior is lovely, with the decor perfectly combatting the fact that the restaurant is lacking natural light due to being completely underground.

Now on to the food. My first real Korean BBQ experience and it is now sure to be a regular occasion! The meal consisted of dishes chosen by my more knowledgeable companions who selected a good cross section for the group to share. I could've kept eating more and more of each dish but each kept coming and I had to try it all.

Highlights of the meal for me were the Bul Go Gi and my first taste of Kimchi (it's taken me agesss, I know!), however we also had chicken and pork dishes which weren't far off. The absolute kicker for me however was the Kan Poong Gi (deep fried chicken in a sweet, spicy marinade) which combined with the Kimchi was delicious and the speed in which this disappeared shows the consensus was widespread.

Overall a perfect meal for a big group who are looking to try a little bit of everything and considering we all only spent £20 (including a couple bottles of Soju!) the cost is very reasonable as well!

Took my sister here after she came back from a year working in South Korea. She agreed that it's authentic and pretty damn tasty!
It's a fairly unassuming place right next to Holborn station. You walk down some steps into a somewhat darkened restaurant but every time I go, it's packed. Every table has a barbecue built into it so I recommend ordering some meats and bits to cook on it. We had spicy marinated pork which was delicious. We also got some gyoza and a couple of other rice and noodle dishes. And of course, a little bottle of soju.
It's not the cheapest place in the world but the waiters are very friendly, there's a real buzzing atmosphere and the food is tasty and authentic.

Very decent price for the lunch menu. £8.50 for this whole plate of Korean style fried chicken, rice and salad. Lunch time is always quite busy. Service is okay. Just outside Holborn station.

Went some years ago but it was great. Very authentic as my Korean mates took me. If Korean people eat there then obviously that is a sign it is good! You clearly need to pay your staff better I hope you are a living wage and living hours employer!

Very good food but small portions and a bit pricey. Good atmosphere but they don't seem to have enough waiters around. Didn't have KBBQ so cannot speak to that. Wouldmmend for good Korean food in the area, but Oxford Circus does have better options in my opinion.

Came here for lunch after a long long break (10-15 years perhaps). If the sundubu chige is representative of their overall quality, it is as good as I remember. Definitely will com back for dinner

I don’t know what everyone’s talking about. People are saying that this place is bad, but this was one of best Korean restaurants I have ever been to. The staff were very nice and the food was outstanding. If I could rate hygiene I would rate it a 4 since it’s a fresh and clean environment. The portion of the food was decent. Lots of people are talking about the portion size being small but I really don’t understand. My family and I love going to Asadal. No one should be caring about privacy since you can just book a room as well. Finally, I would definitely recommend everyone to have a taste of this wonderful restaurant and it’s a restaurant that no one can get away from. I am sure that I’m coming again and I hope that everyone else does too.
