Second visit after some 7 or 8 years. Heard about its celebrated pub quiz and it didn't disappoint. Still retains those two little 'family' cubicles at the bar. Lovely service, great quiz, hope to be back again soon. Decent selection of lagers and traditional ales. Two ciders on tap and neither was Strongbow. :-)

A great pub tucked away in the heart of Marylebone. The Barley Mow is a deceptive maze of a place harbouring many treats for the visitor. Good choice of beers both keg and cask. Lovely service from the staff. A beautiful, quirky and apparently, the oldest pub in Marylebone! A great visit, especially the two confessionals!!

Very cosy pub, with special beers. Great service. Outside seats. There are two snug areas to the side that take 4 or 5 people comfortably if you want some privacy or just have a few friends together. A few steps off Baker Street. We didn't eat but food looks OK.

🚇 Baker Street 🍺 £6.50 Mahou ❤️ A vintage Marylebone boozer. . The Barley Mow is located on elegant Dorset Street in the heart of Marylebone. The nearest tube is Baker Street which is a ten minute stroll away. . This pub was built in 1791 and is Grade II listed and is rumored to be the longest standing building in Marylebone. This pub is also a Freehouse which is very unique in this part of town. . The decor here is traditional and retains many features from the Victorian era. The interior is on Camra’s list of National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. The standout feature is the two private booths located at the bar. This is a perfect example of how, in times gone by, Londoners liked to drink in intimate, cosy surroundings. At the rear of the bar there is also a snug and dartboard. . The beer lineup was decent and there were three cask on at the time of visiting. I decided on a Mahou which is pronounced Mau not Mahoo, i was politely corrected in Bradley’s Spanish Bar a few months ago. This Spanish beer is a nice drop if a little pricey. The food here is full of that British staple, the pie. Pie, mash, mushy peas and gravy will set you back £13.50, there are meat, veggie and vegan options to choose from. . I visited just after opening on a Saturday, with the exception of a group of fellas at the bar who were off to a wedding, I had the place to myself. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed, the acoustic soundtrack set a nice tone around the bar. Evenings are a more lively affair, there are quizzes, open mic nights and dart nights to keep you entertained. . The @thebarleymow_marylebone has it all! The building and primarily the decor are outstanding, a proper piece of old London. The beer was decent and the food hearty. There is plenty on to keep you engaged or you can pop in for a contemplating pint. This is definitely a must visit pub. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 30/07/22
