5 stars and we’ve barely started! If you like you cocktails to taste and have the potency they should- this is your place! The food smells and looks amazing. Not had ours so I’m just observing! I will update …, I’ve eaten. Best beef Wellington I’ve had for a long time. I don’t normally order pudding, but glad we did. This crumble was another level. Update: I had the beef pie. OMG. Amazing. This, even though there was no pastry, was one of the best pies I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a few!!) I’m coming back. Amazing!! Suggestion: when you enter, there are stairs to the right that lead up to the bar and a further seated area. This is our go-to place. Right next to where all the food magic occurs too, adjacent to the chefs (who, by the way are so cool. What they do seems effortless!)

Really lovely place. Been there a few times and have never been disappointed, whether with the food, the service, or the ambience. They made (make?) the best steak pie I've ever eaten. Not 2-3 chunks of beef, but a properly filled steak pie - see for yourself! This pie often haunts my desires as it is so good! 😁 Just one thing to ask: Bring the pie back! 👏

Fantastic local restaurant that hits all the right notes. Manageable menu with interesting dishes and a varied drinks menu. Service was good without being overbearing and they absolutely nailed the ambiance. The honey glazed chicken wings were excellent and the shrimp burger I had was top notch. Can't wait to go back.

We have been missing out by browsing the window here on the way home and not venturing in. The two members of staff looking after our table were excellent. The food, atmosphere and drinks were all great and I can be difficult to please. Everything we asked for was spot on and I am even specific about how many ice cubes I like in my drink. All done as we asked for. Soon to be regulars

We ordered beef Wellington which was perfectly roasted and seasoned. Portion is good for 2 - 3. Wine list is small yet decent.

Delicious Sunday roast (beef in the pic), I will definitely go back. The service, however, is quite slow. Sure, it was busy, but it took us 45 min to order.

Went for a Sunday roast, the lamb was excellent and the beef was decent - very cool atmosphere. Had a sticky toffee pudding which was also very nice, banoffee pie was more a banoffee cup though.

A lovely little space with heaps of character and ambience. Music is played quietly in the background to allow for talking. The portions are generous so come armed with an empty stomach. Waiting staff are attentive but discreetly unobtrusive. Prices are in line with what you'd expect of the area. I was there for a roast lunch on a Sunday and it didn't disappoint. I'll be returning for an evening meal to explore a bigger menu. Fabulous!

Went for dinner here recently as a table of 4 on a Friday night and had a fantastic meal! The ambience was lovely, the staff friendly and very attentive and the food was delicious!!! I had the halloumi fries (from the sides section) as a starter and it was a huuuuuge portion of heavenly deep fried sticks, the others had bruschetta and crab cake style balls and both were also nice. Then for main we had the miso cod, steak and fries (both pictured) and the mushroom tagliatelle. The cod was gorgeous, light and savoury with bak choy, asparagus and new pots and a generous portion. The steak was also really good and came with a lovely signature sauce. Lots of attention to detail (cucumber and grapes in the jug of tap water, and a selection of free Tampons in the ladies for example) and yeah jus overall a brilliant dining experience. Also apparently allows dogs for what its worth as there were a few tables with them.

A very smart bar playing blues and jazz. Cool decor and a good menu. The bar staff seem to know their stuff and there are good selections of whiskey/bourbon, gin and tequila. Reasonable prices and beer served in frosted glasses.
