Great variety, great sandwiches and very friendly staff! Impossible to not go back, as I want to be Shanel’s friend! But, seriously, great sandwiches and great prices.

While always welcomed with a bright smile from the owner Shanel, this is the best family run cafe in Bermondsey. The variety of foods available and fresh coffee while reasonably priced, there is no reason not to visit. Cannot recommend Shanels Sandwich Bar enough.

Shanel's is a true gem of a sandwich shop. We were visiting for a week and originally planned to try different breakfast places. One visit with Shanel was enough to change those plans. The food was fantastic, the pricing was fair and Shanel was a true gem. Her friendliness and recall for her guest's orders was refreshing. We will certainly visit again when we come back to London.

Made to order sandwiches/salads and breakfast. Coffee is good and served at perfect temperature. Always fresh soft bread and service that is outstanding. Some of the nicest people in all of London. I will be a forever customer.

My favourite go to place in Bermondsey for a quick lunch or breakfast! Love the food, atmosphere and warmth, and the prices are very good too! A real gem in town!

Just discovered this place after 2 years of living here , it’s a hidden gem. I have the small takeaway salad and it’s a nothing but small. You can pick the protein (seafood/meat etc) and then you have options of all the items that make up your salad. There is potato salad, coleslaw, pasta, couscous etc so it’s a hearty. For two salads (one big one small) two drinks and a packet of crisps £18 bargain

Great little spot here in a good location. Just came in here to grab a coffee but the staff were very friendly, very reasonable price as well, and there was nice seating outside. On a sunny morning it is a great place to relax with a coffee.

The most friendly family store sandwich store. The best service & food with unbeatable reasonable prices. What more can you ask for. Highly recommend. I especially love the coronation, honey mustard and chicken bacon sweetcorn.

Such a lovely local cafe. The owner offered my baby a piece of toast free of charge when he was upset - such a kind thing to do and much appreciated from a tired mum! A nice buzzy area with independent cafes and wine bars.
