THE CLUB IS A SURPRISING MUSICAL FIND... The Water Margin at the O2 is Chinese Buffet Restaurant upstairs and a bar cum disco cum nightclub cum music venue downstairs. We did try and get some food from the restaurant but we'd primarily come to hear former Australian Pop Idol Natalie Gauci perform. The restaurant & bar definitely do not go hand in hand. When asked would it be possible to take food down to the bar from the upstairs restaurant, we were instructed by the waitress to ask the barman downstairs if it would be OK with him and we'd be only offered a single plate (rather that being able to return to the buffet as many times as we'd like if seated upstairs) if he was. I didn't see it as our job to facilitate giving the restaurant money. The smell of food wasn't appealing, the staff not accommodating and the fact we weren't getting the full value for money for the offering meant we passed. But the bar downstairs was truly a surprise. The 02 Dome is full of chains and so the expectation for a music venue was very low. But surprising, as we walked in on Natalie and her supports, we were immediately taken aback by how good the sound was. Further more the venue seemed to have its own sound engineer keen to make sure everything worked. I'm a massive fans of Natalie and her show was as astounding as ever. Some amazing guest stars too (students of hers and fellow compatriots). A couple of things let the place down though. For a music venue not enough thought had gone into the hand dryers in the toilets, which became a constant annoyance (a sound proof toilet door perhaps would have eradicated that one. Barman using blenders during performances to crush ice for cocktails seemed like another faux pas that could have easily been avoided. And sadly, a group of 20 somethings, seemed insistent on making more noise than every performer, giggling or yelling (usually about something inane on Facebook) throughout every performance. A quiet word by staff, just asking them to keep it down (they clearly hadn't come here to see the gig - one wonders actually why they were there at all) wouldn't have gone amiss. But the venue had a good vibe about it all around. I would probably avoid it like the plague on a Friday & Saturday night, but if there's a performer on you'd like to see I'd certainly make the journey down to see them here. Bar prices weren't bad either - A large vodka & orange juice coming in at £6.40 is certainly acceptable.

Used to love going there, however after the new owner took over food quality and variety have dropped drastically. We were trying to get a table, but were shepherded to the busiest area of the room. Also, the main manager (petite oriental lady) is always unhappy about something, same as one of the bar staff... they act like I owe them something and they are feeding me out of their own pockets... extremely unhappy, I don't think we will be going there again Also, please stop making your staff leave 5 star reviews, makes it look even worse. And the Local Guide who left a 5 star review is lying. I looked at their other reviews, looks like they are just being paid to say good things (associate marketing). And the audacity to say that other local businesses leave bad reviews! What if you had to take a client to that place, how embarrassing would that be? Stop it, you make genuine customers look like liars.

Me and my partner went for lunch. I thought it was a waste of money. Food wasn't nice, plan, dry and burnt. Need more food choose. Drinks was flat. Most of the fruit for dessert was out of date, apart from the pineapple and oranges. They also need to redecorate and replace some furniture as there is hole. Plate and cups was dirty, with food all over them. Will not be going back. Think they should ask for help from Gordon Ramsey, or close down.

The food was atrocious. I decided to arrange a sister meet up at Water Margin to try something new and also experience a buffet in 02 It was the worst first time experience. Customer service waitress look like the world was going to end The food tasted offish like the meat was gone off, old and the food didn't smell nice. It wasn't good value for money. I wouldn't give any of that food to a dog. One star ratings in my eyes is too generous.

Food was expired / toxic. Dog food tastes better. Believe me I am not fussy eater at all But the food here tasted like it was ROTTEN. The meat dishes tasted like they had cooked a meat that had expired a week ago. Everything did not taste like they should do. I never write reviews but the traumatic experience has forced me to do this. I went there with my group of friends and we all vowed to never step inside this place. This place should be made ILLEGAL!!

REALLY AWFUL. Went for mother in laws birthday and chose to get the raw food cooked fresh, (I only eat fish) my plate was last and was cooked in the same place as all the pork beef and chicken before mine as he moves it all to same place one at a time. My boyfriend has a nut allergy and because serving area is so dirty and spoons are all contaminated obviously had an allergic reaction. Next day we were both ill, definitely from the food. Really poor quality food, dirty and staff can't speak English and rude. Don't understand how it gets so busy the food is so bad

AWFUL AWFUL !!! This place has gone downhill in the last six to eight months. The staff are absolutely awful and show no interest in the customers. I ordered a water with my meal and had to collect it myself from the bar in the end. I watched two people stand by the area where you have your choice of food cooked for you while the staff sat on chairs in the corner chatting and laughing, it took eight minutes for someone to come and help. The food has gone downhill and they no longer offer pudding on the lunch menu. The best thing this place can do is close down.
