Was there today!! Not as crowded as on weekends, and the unbeliveble view of London guaranteed. And yes, still expencive but totally worth it
There is no doubt that the food can be a bit variable and on a couple of occasions we have found the food lacking on seasoning. However, the food is still better than the majority of chain owned pubs and the food can be very good value if you order carefully. The children's meals and the mob to sat day menu offer particularly good value of money.
I've been a couple times for a Sunday roast and they do this very well. Service was good and friendly both times.

Good but waning. I have been to this nice gastro pub about 10 times and enjoyed it a lot but from the last few visits i fear its beginning to fail a little . Nice jazz evenings and a good menu make it a worthwhile choice but its beginning to run out of ideas and the food quality has been better in the past .
A better choice is the Clissold Arms up the road these days
I have gone for dinner to the Bald Faced Stag for years and always come back. It’s maintained an excellent standard for good food with a changing, adventurous and delicious menu. Staff are always very friendly - we have never had a bad experience.

Came in for 'light' lunch and ended up over ordering for myself :/ Was it worth being uncomfortably full for the rest of the afternoon? Yes, absolutely!
The buffallo wings, smoked mackerel rillette and devilled whitebait were all great and got devoured in minutes.
I was told that they recently released this menu. Look forward to returning and trying the rest of the dishes.
Good little gastro pub in each Finchley, haven't tried the food this time around as was a flying visit.
Early dinner. Very good service. I found my Thai curry very dry and sweetcorn and cauliflower almost raw.
Icecream was delicious.
Thursday 2-4-1 applied only to alcoholic cocktails - I don't drink alcohol ☹ so paid full price for one drink.
Excellent atmosphere and service. Everyone was very friendly, and knowledgeable. Beer recommendations were great. A new menu was offered yesterday. The choices covered a wide range of tastes. The chicken wings were excellent. The sauce used for the wings wasn't too hot, and had a nice sweetness to it.

We have been here before for a drink and bar snacks, this time we booked for a meal. The staff are great and attentive, knowledgeable and helpful, with a smile too, you see the two guys at the bar in the picture I was allowed to take of the guys, great help and sense of humour. On being seated at the table I managed to knock and smash a wine glass all over the floor, so embarrassing 😞 I tried to pick the pieces and was told by Will the Assistant Manager to please leave it as it's ok and they will take care of it , better than cutting your hands and causing more problems ! Thanks Will and sorry about the glass.
The meal we had was the roast option, most had chicken with the trimmings ihad the trio option. Tasty and enjoyable, the only criticism is, it needed more vegetables on the plate , sorry . We did order extra sides and the broccoli with the chilli and lemon , master class 👍. Only two had desert, Bramley apple pie and custard, sticky toffee pudding with pecans and I had custard with it , delicious. Thanks to Will and he's amazing staff from the bar to the restaurant and the the kitchen , thanks Chef 👍See you soon guys 😊
Took my Dad for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Food was okay. We had fish finger sandwiches. The bread was sourdough and because of the presentation of the sandwiches, they were a bit difficult to eat.
Decent gastro pub with decent food. The atmosphere is different of course depending on the time and day of the week.
I come here at least twice a week with my bro. Nice local boozer, wide selection of beers, the chicken and ham pie is a solid choice. Very good service, especially from barmaid Emily
Very cute dining experience, the restaurant is at the side of the pub in a separate section.
The fish and chips was delicious the condiments were the perfect compliment to it.
The price was really good also, I paid £47 in total for my mine and my friends meal & drink(she got the burger and said it was really good)

Love this pub. The food is absolutley amazing. The staff friendly and the seating comfortable.
It's quite buzy and noisy but I feel that it adds to the atmosphere of a good night out.
Open mic on every Thursday with live music and some very good singers.
They have a massive rear patio which is so nice during the summer times.
Also good parking facilities and a disable entrance. Also very close to the tube.
