The Arches

'Little local places' used to be the norm in inner north-west London, but that was then and this is now. Fortunate, then, that The Arches is a blast from that blessed past. Cramped, a world of small, intimate, spaces, relieved by the option of eating outside at pavement tables. Prices are reasonable, the welcome is both warm and genuine, the shortish, changing, menu is just what you'd want from a local bistro and the wines are reliable and well-kept. Check it out, but don't tell too many friends - I want to be sure of a table!

Looved this place, stopped for a cheeky dessert and snifter after dinner somewhere else and wow what a place. Service brill, desserts brill...we had tarte tartin & a tiramisu both served with an oreo ice cream. Place was so cool, vibey and cosy. Other people's food looked so good, will def be back for dinner and the brunch looks good too

well it's my local drinking spot, I grow more fond of it each time set foot there! it's a civilized cozy little restaurant /bar with a back lean-to conservatory in which smoking is allowed, a plus, for smokers like myself. it also contains external, canopy covered seating at the front entrance, and extra room downstairs. it reminds me of a country village pub, friendly attractive staff as well as fine intelligent, warm customers for company. difficult to stay away, lovely.
