Really gorgeous French restaurant in Kentish. The atmosphere feels relaxed chic and tables are spaced nicely. Service attentive and friendly.
Drinks
Wine selection is good, cocktails very good (we had aperol spritz & the sour epicé, a Mezcal sour, which I thoroughly recommended.
Food
Between four we shared the deep fried dauphinois (divine), baked st. Michelin, and then shared the sides with our mains of green beans in garlic, braised red cabbage & two frites portions (one with aoli, one with garlic butter). All the mains were divine, the duck was cooked to perfection and the mushroom ragout was incredibly flavoured. The steak was also excellent and served to our liking.
While portions are on the smaller side - and it would be nice that the meals came with a sauce as quite dry otherwise - they do not skimp on the desserts. You'll be hard pressed to find as comforting a rhubarb crumble as you will here, & the creme brulée had a satisfying snap & excellent flavour.
For a filling and delicious taste of France, you really can't go wrong here.
Fantastic French cafe with great flavours and a great cocktail menu and mixologist. Tastes and textures were on point and served perfectly. Size of portions were just about right for the price charged.
The restaurant is also dog friendly!
This French restaurant was truly incredible. The food tasted delicious, and extremely well presented. Kind and thoughtful staff. Cozy and intimate atmosphere.
Highly recommend!
This is such a cute place in Kentish Town with great French food. We started with a few cocktails that were really refreshing before having a feast.
To start, we had the st-marcellin cheese & beef tartare. The was followed by the cote de boef, with vegetables and chips! To finish we had a glass of rose and the chocolate mousse, which is a must try!
The food was amazing and the staff were great, very at tentative to our needs. It sis all very reasonably priced too so I can’t wait to go back!
Lovely French bistro with great food and ambiance. The place is relaxed and not too crowded. The steak tartare and cassoulet were amazing
I cannot remember the last time I was this impressed with a restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious and well presented, the atmosphere was tasteful - elegant without trying too hard, and the service was immaculate - staff truly anticipated my needs, had a great flow, and gave the right amount of attention. I thoroughly recommend dining here and I myself hope to return soon.
Loved this place and can’t wait to return. Such thoughtful staff who really enrich the place, delicious food & well priced red wine. What’s not to love :)
Short walk from Kentish town tub station. Some seating in the street. Another reviewer mentioned the dull lighting was romantic. For mine it was hard to read the menu because it was so dark. Had to use my mobile phone light. Had a couple of excellent cocktails and entree of cheese and steak tartare - Both delicious. Mains of duck (slightly dry), rainbow trout (excellent)and a glass of white wine. £105 for 2. For the price the service could have been more attentive.
First time at Patron. Came for my wife’s birthday - just the two of us. Everything was perfect! The food was faultless (best duck my wife has ever had apparently), the service was great and we love that it’s a small, cosy, local independent restaurant.
What an incredible meal. If I had eaten this in the restaurant I would be impressed but to have this quality of food at home is something special. The steak tartare was fantastic but the star of the show was the duck confit. The meat fell off the bone and the flavour was wonderful. I can’t wait to go to the restaurant when we are allowed.
