Hyde Cafe

Popped in for cocktails and it was a great experience. Spoke to the Mauritian manager who said he had great ideas for this place and his enthusiasm was admirable. Did feel a little uncomfortable with the reception staff who I felt were looking down at me though! But the manager made us feel comfortable.

My first time at this restaurant and it was an excellent experience. The ambience was so comfortable yet pleasantly stimulating. The afternoon tea was nice and a straightforward procedure. The choices of tea were vast and different - the Oolong Milk Tea was my favourite, the green tea wasn't remarkable but it was standard. I think the fillings of the sandwiches were quite unique however, the bread was slightly oxidised and borderline stale. I would most definitely returning multiple times as the price per person is excellent for the standard of service. Excellent!

Great tiny little place. Trust me when I say tiny. Size of a one double and one single room. (Haven’t seen the terrace though) However lovely staff even though it seemed that they didn’t receive our reservation memo which I though was a bit strange and somewhat unorganised (maybe glitch in the system), they still gave us a table and treated us superb. The food was beautiful especially the chicken with sweet cabbage, that’s quite unusual taste for me yet absolutely beautiful. I was not impressed with the truffle chips, expected more there. Cocktails were nice, classics. And oysters with caviar very tasty. Overall satisfaction achieved although I’d expect to be more fed for the amount spent.
