I'm a fanatic for real fish and chips, and Mikes fish and chips is the best example of the best fish and chips I've enjoyed in years! Piping hot, crisp and delicious, and served by a lovely lady, superb!
You've got to try it.
Superb place...tons of choice and can sit in or takeaway. One of those chippy cafes that does loads of other stuff on the menu as well. Loads of posters on the wall advertising music and arts events.
How fish and chips should be. Huge portion, crispy batter, well cooked chips, mountain of mushy peas. None of this faffy stuff you get in Didsbury. This will be my go to chippy from now on.
Literally came across this chippy when visiting family. Came in clean and ample seating. Had the fish and chips with peas. It' was bloody gorgeous the best fish and chips we've had in years. Better then ones we've had near the coast. Great portion of food. Left full and we will defiantly come again. Wish we lived closer!
Great little food joint. Had a cheap and cheerful bacon and egg bap, nice runny yolk!
It's not a posh place. However the fish and chips are excellently cooked in vegetables oil. The breakfast is also excellent. 👌
Ordered a large chips, gravy, chicken nuggets and a large Sausage. The gravy here is top notch, some of the best chip shop gravy.
Best chips in Withington! Great customer service and the chips and curry sauce were absolutely delicious 🤤
Visiting my daughter in Withington, we chose a traditional fish and chip supper for a Friday night treat at a chippy near by. Wow! Friendly service (could you expect anything less in Manchester) and brilliant food at a fair and reasonable price. Fish was well cooked with a light batter that didn't impose upon the taste one bit, chips were proper chippy chips, professionally fried in good oil and the mushy peas lovely and plentiful. Would heartily recommend, I'll certainly be back! Couple serving also had a mini argument which added to the authenticity and homeliness. 😁
I am a disabled person and this was my first visit. They do breakfast and I did see that they sell fish & Chips. I should say the English breakfast was excellent for the small price you pay. The cheapest between Didsbury village and Whittington town. I simply couldn't finish the portions. The sausages , toast, backed beans, chopped tomatoes and mushrooms were all great. The eggs was just slightly over fried but nothing big to complain. The lady at the counter was very curtious and kind. This attitude and behaviour of staff had won the establishment 2 stars from me . Hope to visit soon. Bravo.
