Golden Tao Restaurant

This is a great place to eat. They've completely stopped answering their phone. Tried getting delivery a couple different days in the last week with no answer. I tried numerous times too, and even waited several minutes between call attempts. *Star rating edited to reflect explanation from business owner* Restaurant is undergoing maintenance.

Crab Rangoons weren't sweet, they were bland so they didn't taste good. This was disappointing and surprising since I've never had a bad Crab Rangoon. Crispy Sesame Chicken was not crispy at all, the outer layer of the chicken was wrinkly and chewy. Because it's heavily drowned in sauce, it was all soggy. Got some noodles with shrimp, beef, veggies. Flavor wasn't good so we didn't eat any of it. Hard to describe, but it tasted as if the shrimp was bad, and the bad fishy flavor had coated the whole dish. It might have been a bad cook this time, since I know they had good reviews, but I for sure won't be coming here again anytime soon.

I didn't have the worst experience here but it could have been a lot better. The food is very fresh but flavorless. I order Chicken Teriyaki and it tasted as if they forgot to marinade it. Seriously, I'm still not convinced it saw a lick of sauce in its creation; Nonetheless, I ate it so it clearly wasn't bad, just not what was expected. Along with the Teriyaki Sticks, I ordered Chicken and Broccoli. It wasn't terrible and it wasn't great but it was perfectly mediocre. My main gripe is that I could have made it better at home, which makes me feel like an idiot for buying it. Overall, I ate all of my food but felt as if I should have just gotten off of my butt and cooked what I wanted myself. The food was okay, but for almost $40 (with delivery and tip) I feel that the food could have received more love, or I could have received larger portions.
