Amazing food, service, atmosphere and staff. Thos is a hidden gem, top quality. If you are staying in the Heron Lake Retreat, this is a five minute walk away. It is joined to the Craft Shop which has jewellery, cards, gifts, antiques etc, really beautiful little find. My Mum had the beef and ale pie and asked the chef to come out to tell him it was the best pie she had ever tasted.

We've been here a few times and are always impressed with the service and the quality of homemade food. Recently, we had the luxury afternoon tea-they don't make the sandwiches until you arrive! Delicious! There's also a gift shop, visiting artists and antiques to explore after you've eaten. Highly recommended.

Gotta be honest and say the style/decor put me off a little (it could be best described as "eclectic") but they say 'never judge a book by its cover' for good reason - the food is frankly of a spectacularly high quality and the menu options are wider than you might find in places 10 times the size. I found it really difficult to decide but eventually plumped for good old BLT and chips and it was as good as any I've ever had. Even the side salad was varied, delicious AND FRESH (why do some places find that so hard). The jewel in their crown though was their staff - could these be the best an nicest restaurant staff anywhere?
