Very good food, good service, great music, very reasonably priced. A really good and varied selection of beers. A must visit restaurant and bar.

Fantastic setup taking a “pint and a curry” to the next level. This is how a proper Indian meal should be, small menu with dishes cooked over time (like home cooked). The food was off with fantastic beer, quick and very polite service. Quality of food was top notch. Only suggestion (if I was forced to make one) would be a few more choices in the thali taster ( nibbles to go with beer) and maybe a nice simple raita with the main Thali. And maybe “biryani Sundays?” Heard the menu is rotated which is good. Otherwise excellent all round and I hope this guys stay on for a long time.

Thali tray is the most authentic Indian, tasty good quality fresh food with a lovely setting. with a firepit you can get marshmallows and do them in the fire.

very busy- perfect atmosphere even 5:30pm on weekend! great choice for casual beers and a large fire place outdoors. good price for choice of thali’s of indian dishes. service was great and staff very accommodating, we went for 0% peroni for dry jan and the veggie options of thali’s. both were nice enough and plentiful. daal a little bland but some of the other dishes were spicy and tasty. side of onion and pickle and chilli makes a great accompaniment as traditional to indian meals!

Fantastic. We don't usually enjoy Indian food in this country, but the food and beer here were great. We will definitely be back.

So went here earlier this week on a Tinder date, she was a solid 10/10 I'm a fair 6/10. The food tho, solid 11/10, I ordered a punjabi tray, she ordered a keralan, because I'm a veggie. Food came out within 5 minutes of ordering as it wasn't that busy at the time which was nice so I could listen to my date lol the food was hot, and tasty the naan bread was out of this world! The staff are absolutely fantastic! Would totally recommend too anyone for food and a great night out!

In the north east a lot with work and mate recommended this place. It was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Cool venue and concept. Really good beer selection too with options like cloudwater and some of their own brewed beer which was really good. We had two Thali trays with extra bread as recommended by the guy behind the bar & of course the onion bhaji. All was delicious and as a big meat eater I really liked the veggie dishes. Cheap as chips too bill was £32. Nice change of scenery to Dabbawal and the places in Newcastle. Will definitely be going again soon

If you like your curry meaty then don’t bother. Had the chicken and beef curry. One tiny piece of chicken and two tiny pieces of beef. The rest was just sauce. Rice, naan and sauce and all at a moderate temperature. Luckily the sauce was tasty enough otherwise I would have sent it back and asked for a refund. Oh and we ordered onion bhaji’s and potato wedges as a starter and asked if they could come before the curry. Unfortunately it all came together which was a little too much all at once. Love the concept but just fell a little short.

Overpriced and heated up, not cooked onsite. Disappointing, staff were confident and trendy, but got the orders wrong for several customers. A few too many tables for comfort.

A lovely little gem, tucked away under the railway bridge near the Cluny Pub, they offer very tasty Indian food, a bit like Tapas as you can chose a `TRAY` which has rice, two currys, nan breard or flat brean and pickes, they also have two open fire pits with real burning logs which is so warm in these cold nigths and you can but a portion of Smores to toast on them. Lovely place and very goor prices

Was really looking forward to this after hearing lots of good reports. Sadly it did not live up to expectations. I ordered the Kerelan tray which is meant to contain a portion of chicken and a portion of beef curry. I got two portions of (very tasty) sauce. When I mentioned this to our server I was told that the meat would have dissolved after a long time cooking. Also 'you get what you pay for'. In this case I didn't get what I paid for. The bhaji was also very greasy.

The food here is great and excellent value for money, although that is partly because they don't take bookings and you have to order at the bar, but its a good trade off. We had a bit of a wait for a table, although we could have eaten straight away if we were prepared to eat in the outside section. This was OK for a beer but i didn't fancy eating in the cold. The beer selection is good and the staff are friendly. I particularly liked the wood fires in the outside section which gave off an amazing heat and kept us warm whilst we waited for our table inside. A great concept that appeals to my inner caveman

6 of us ate here today and I have to say it was totally wonderful food. You can eat inside but why would you when there's an outside seating area with a fire pit in the middle. We all enjoyed everything on our trays. The portions are perfect and even though I'm gluten free they still managed to make me a flat bread to go with it.

Had a lovely night celebrating a 21st birthday. The restaurant were so accommodating, letting our large group crowd around the fire pit, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful night (including free s’mores!). My friends and I had an absolutely lovely time and everyone has said they’ll definitely be back! Thanks again x
