I really enjoyed coming here. I was a bit dubious given the overall energy but I was pleasantly surprised.
The food was really delicious and despite some of the pricing being a little high it was really good. We had a nice table with lots of space and the service was also really good. Thanks for being so attentive.
The toilets are not really accessible as are up the stairs but they were clean and nice.

The place was bouncing, standing room only. We had booked a table for food, the table was ready for us. The food was decent. Great service and friendly staff.

Very cosy brown pub with a good atmosphere, kind and helpful staff. Quite a big portion of Fish & Chips with delicious cod, potatos, Tartar souce and a crispy green kale. Really good!!

Always call in here when in Newcastle. It's a great pub for a few late night drinks, when most of the noise heads further up into town. Great selection of drinks and friendly and efficient staff. It's good to find a city pub that attracts a real mix of people and doesn't just cater to the weekend warriors. I've drunk in my fair share of pubs in the city and this ranks as my favourite by some margin.
Never eaten there (didn't even know they do food), so can only score a 3 star for that.

Yum!!! The salted duck is amazing. Super meaty and flavorful, cooked perfectly, fat really nice, and cabbage absolutely delicious!!!! The mashed potatoes could be improved by the addition of garlic but so would all mashed potatoes and that is more a general opinion that I hold to be universal truth than a criticism.
Bread and butter pudding definitely left something to be desired - while tasty, I'm not at all convinced that it wasn't just baked bread with custard and raisins on top. Pour some egg, milk, and cinnamon over the bread before you bake it pleaseš

We come to this popular pub fairly often, when we visit Newcastle. Always a great selection of local ales (Wylam's Tabernacle is highly recommended), friendly staff and customers create a nice atmosphere for all ages.

I love this little place. Inside is very cute and laid back. Lots of different types of beer on tap. Stouts and sours. A few outdoor options to relax.

First visit in a few years and delighted it's still a great pub. Good selection of cask & craft beer. Excellent pub grub and friendly staff.

Popped in for a bite to eat and the food was amazing. Loved the layout and there was plenty of atmosphere. All the staff were talked to were really friendly and when we talked to the chef he made our mouths water telling us about the upcoming menu.
So glad we fell into here!

First time in the Bridge tavern
Really enjoyed it that I went back again a few nights later
Friendly staff who knew their products
Plenty of beers and choices for all tastes
Relaxed ambience and comfortable seating along with benches and stools.
It has an upstairs and outdoor balcony with heating
Situated directly under the Tyne bridge. Outwardly doesnāt look much but really nice and welcoming inside
Apparently a haunt of Johnny Depp and Sam Fenderā¦ā¦ They mustnāt have heard I was in town š

Had lunch with my son yesterday. Itās the first time Iāve been but the reviews Iāve read and my sonās recommendation made the decision for me. I was not disappointed. Walking in, we were greeted warmly by staff and this continued throughout the whole service.
The menu; we were spoiled for choice. We opted for a sharing boardā¦.. OMG, it was incredibleā¦..the variety of food on offer to the quality of the ingredients to the chefās expertise made this a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Great selection of real ales, served by the wonderful bar staff. Nice and friendly atmosphere. Overall a great night out

This is a great pub with a fantastic beer selection with good food as well. They brew some of their own beer on site as well as getting some of the best craft beer available on tap and in the fridge. Sometimes it's gets busy for eating so probably best to book to be sure. Efficient staff serve quickly though.

Quirky, good service, however the drinks were quite pricey.
2 large white wines Ā£23.
It was quite empty when we were in but I can imagine the atmosphere would be good if busier.

One of the best pubs in Newcastle, choice of drinks is excellent. The staff are always great, friendly and knowledgeable. I have also eaten there on multiple occasions and highly recommended.

I quite like this pub. I've been in a few times and it's always had a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly too. The prices are good, not that cheap that it attracts idiots but reasonable for a nice bar.

Microbrewery beers were good and the environment was cosy, food was reasonable. Chicken pie had a nice flaky pastry, but the fish and chips were a little below par. Beers were nice - a good place to relax with friends.

Went for a quick drink with my wife. Nice atmosphere and good service. Didn't eat, but the food looked good.

Whilst reading through some blogs I stumbled across The Bridge Tavern. Its menu seemed very similar to The Broad Chare... but a few quid cheaper and featuring a micro brewery. On this occasion The Bridge Tavern won and it became our choice of pre-match grub. I've since read that the chef from Broad Chare has migrated to The Bridge Tavern so this could explain the similar offerings.Ā

Microbrewery + craft beer pub in Central Newcastle.
Itās a lovely sight that awaits us as we enter The Bridge Tavern (under the Tyne Bridge) for a Sunday roast today: a long bar of craft beers (good variety of pale ales, Christmas beers, stouts and weiss), fermenting beers at the back, a spacious room of solid wooden tables, and a friendly greeting from the bar staff. What more could you ask for? Good food? Tick.

We try a few beers before eyeing up the food menu and Sunday roast menu. C and I home in on beer battered haddock, triple cooked chips and mushy peas with homemade tartare sauce @ Ā£9.95, while K orders a pulled pork bun with kimchee slaw and pickles and triple cooked fries @ Ā£9.95. Itās all mighty fine...
