This might sound like a paid review but it isn't. We found this pub on a rainy April afternoon after walking for ages looking for a dog friendly establishment. They welcomed the 10 of us with open arms. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't to busy. Our kids were delighted with the choices they had after one of the staff went to chat to the chef about what they could have. From ordering to having food in front of us room about 20 minutes. Perfect size portions and a fantastic service. The staff went out of the way to show how dog friendly they were, with drinks and treats for both of them. If I had one complaint and its not really a complaint is that the slot machines take away a little of the look to the place. Hope to get back again 1 day and if i could give 6 stars i would. Thank you all.

Our family made a short stop in Newcastle while on holiday and spent the day walking all around town, taking in some of the sights and getting a feel for the place so that we can properly visit another time. We made our way to the bridges and Quayside by sundown and Akenside Traders caught our eye. It was a great choice! The servers showed us tremendous hospitality and great service. They gave us loads of recommendations on things to do while in town. Our kids loved the wings and pizza, and we were happy with the wide variety of beers offered. It is a very spacious place with TVs at every table, which I imagine is a great place to take in a football match or two! Being we visited in October, the place was a super festive with full on Halloween decor which added to the fun of the evening. We’ll be back for sure!

Nice pub, beer good and atmosphere was ok. We went on a Wednesday night and it was about a 3rd full. Big screens showing football, and window seats great to watch the nightlife passing by.

Had a great Sunday afternoon watching the rugby with some chicken wings (so good) and cider. Betsy was so helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the laid back vibe and how accommodating they were. Only complaint I have is the toilet area doesn't smell the greatest.

Became our local during our stay in Newcastle. Partly because it was at the bottom of all the hills that city has but mostly because the atmosphere was excellent, the beer great and the staff were good banter. If you're Quayside, go there.

Food was good but since we ordered more food at lunch they tool almost an hour to make it. I was because of holidays but still they could do a better job.
Anyways, food was good. Loved pizza there.

Staff really friendly. Ryan was really welcoming and funny! Drinks are very reasonably priced. All round good atmosphere, and would recommend.

Popped in with the dogs on GNR day. Just before the heavens opened. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and got the dogs water and treats. We stayed longer than we planned so had a snack which was very tasty every thing was very well priced too.
Well done and will be back next time.x

Good place to have a quick drink when its not too busy next to the start of the quayside so a good starting point for your night out
Toilets downstairs to the left - not fantastic but cleaner that lots in town
They have a few offers on normally and you can get a bottle of wine for £6
The only problem is weekends as it gets so packed that you can hardly move - I mean really squashed in

Least said soonest mended . It has some good points nice interior and a bit of real ale but honestly don't want to visit again .

Decent place to drop in if you dont mind a bit cramming (when i say cramming, think condensation running down windows, literally!). This also generally means it can be very difficult to get served.
Seems to attract the older person, but nontheless is canny if you like to have a drink and a laugh in a friendly atmosphere. Seems to also play cheesy music whenever i happen to go in, but again this all leads to a friendly, good-time atmosphere.
