I haven't been here for years. It was a good lunch experience. The food was of a good quality. Staff are friendly and proactive in making sure you are happy eating and drinking in the venue. The price per plate is reasonable.
The only issue is the 35 minute wait for food in the queue. If you have small kids, it will be a challenge to keep them entertained and motivated to stand that long with you. ..other than that. I recommend the place.

Went last night for a carvery, were served by Emma and Grace - really lovely girls and nothing was a bother for them. Food was nice as usual. It was a busy night and the team did really well attending to everyone. Special mention to the the host whose name we didn’t get, who handled another (quite frankly nasty and rude) customer’s complaint with dignity. You’re all doing a great job, make everyone feel welcome and deserve more recognition!

It has been a while since we frequented the Toby Carvery at Kenton Bank - we used to go fairly regularly pre Covid.
The restaurant still looks smart, spacious, but also warm and welcoming.
We both opted for the carvery, my partner going for it without the meat.
It was delicious! My only moan is that the chef was a little tight with the slices of meat he offered me. I'm not greedy and just a little bit more would make all the difference.
But it is still excellent value and the friendly and helpful service offered by Grace deserves commendation.

Toby Carveries never disappointed. We all ate our fill and the kids enjoyed a lovely dessert as well. Swiftly seated despite not booking ahead (sorry) and we were tucking into food minutes after being seated.

It's been a few years since we were at this Toby it's as always been our favourite place for a Sunday lunch. And it's not changed. The only difference is we had Lamb my favourite meat we went on a Tuesday because we had to do a drop off at Newcastle airport so we called there for lunch 10 out of 10 Kenton bank Toby you still the best good staff and environment all 1st class. Well done

Had a very pleasurable visit. We have been to many a Toby across the country and this is up there with one of the best. We arrived to be welcomed by Santana who could not do enough to make us feel welcome. After we were seated and placed our drinks orders ( we opted for the refills as we love the different flavours you can select) we approached the deck, which you could smell before you saw! An array of succulent meaty treats and fresh vegetables! I myself am a fiend for mash and this one was tremendous! Our meat options were turkey gammon pork and beef, I just had the gammon but my partner had the beef and pork and we were both equally satisfied! Our meat was hand carved by chef Ben, another valuable delight to the company! My only regret was not bottling up the gravy to take home!
Overall review of our visit was a 10/10!
We will be back again!

I was greeted instantly as I walked in by Poppy who was so friendly! Served by Grace who went the extra mile and made the experience unbelievable!! The food was brilliant and Danny was carving who was super welcoming! I couldn’t have had a better time and would recommend here to everyone, I’ll definitely be back soon!!

Went yesterday for a family meal for grans bday, quality of the meat was exceptional. Great portion sizes and the staff were so friendly. Shout out to the lady (red hair) who made a fuss over my gran and brought her some extra gravy

Your staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This was my friends 1st ever carvery so he didn't know what to expect. We arrived early for our table so had a few drinks at the bar. When we got our table the queue for the carvery was huge. I didn't realize I picked a popular time slot. It was quite a wait but well worth it. Food was great and I really liked the amount of space you had between tables. It seemed like there was a load of people in for lunch, but when you sat down, it didn't seem overly full. The lay out of the restaurant is spot on.

Fantastic service from Tracey, friendly, efficient, and making sure we were happy with our visit. Food was lovely. Plenty choice of Veg to have.

I haven’t been to the Toby at Kenton bank foot park for a while as I no longer live in Kingston park. However, I went yesterday as the weather is getting colder I fancied a roast. I have to say the food was fab, service was amazing by the lovey Grace. Cant wait to come back.

Absolutely great - Service was fab too, George was our server and he went out of his way to help us with the experience.

Went here not expecting much for a veggie breakfast but was pleasantly surprised. There are only 2 things I'd improve. Cook the veggie sausages a little longer (they were a bit pale for my liking), and I'd like to have known to order the scrambled egg. Only fried on the buffet, so by the time I ordered and got my eggs, I'd eaten the rest of my breakfast.

Warm welcome at the door and immediately taken to our table where drinks were ordered.
Took our place in the queue for food which took 25-30 mins … not really acceptable… only one person serving meat/yorkshires … with another changing veg trays … food was good

What an experience i had today! Food was lovely and the waitress who served out table was great but the service was disgraceful from the lady behind the food pass! I went up to the food counter and requested a baby plate, exactly the same as i was told to do previously i explained that all my child could eat was the peas and carrots as long as they didn’t contain dairy or soya (he has allergies) to be repeatedly told that i couldn’t put the food on the baby plate strait from the pot as i did last time it had to go on my plate and i had to feed him from there so again explained that my child had allergy’s and i couldn’t do this, the lady behind the food then preceded to try and belittle me by saying she had already told me i had to put it on my plate first regardless, so again explained to situation and even offered her the plate back, when she made a big deal shouting down from the other end of the food pass that she would allow me on this occasion to do it. I then returned to my table and spoke to the waitress who couldn’t understand the issue from the other member of staff and was happy to go to the kitchen and get us some freshly prepared peas to ensure no contamination.
I have been to this branch on several occasions and never had an issue and have always got the peas and carrots the same way each time with no issue but after todays experience i will NOT be attending again!

Came today for breakfast with Santa, the lady on reception who showed us to our seats was lovely and our server was friendly.. Got to plate up breakfast and asked if they did black pudding and the man (chef) was really rude, breakfast was ok but cold and the bread for the toast was awful you could tell it was cheap went to get a cup of tea and there was no teabags baring in mind it was 9.15 in the morning.. As we were sitting eating our breakfast I couldn’t help notice the lady who was cleaning the tables a customer approached her to ask a question and she was so rude to him, anyways back to breakfast with Santa which I assumed there would be a certain area where you’d have your breakfast and Santa would be there which he wasn’t once you finished your breakfast you got up and paid as normal and made your own way around to where Santa was no one there to greet you or show you where to go, once got in the room Santa was just sat there he asked my daughter a question then said merry Christmas and goodbye I had to ask if we could have a photo.. the experience was rubbish and so unorganised won’t be back again and will not recommend to anyone in the future

Went for breakfast and found ALL the food to be cold. It was only 9.30 and the eggs, bacon looked like they'd been sat under the lights since around 6. Butter was unnecessarily hard as it was in the cooler - even though the restaurant was barely heated. Only thing we managed to get that was hot was the tea & toast and that's because we made them ourselves. Used to be decent here but apparently no longer.

The food was hot and fresh. The chef was really pleasant when serving the kids. One thing that did bother me was the waiter being too quick to rush the table. He started clearing the plates while I was still eating then stood there till I was done and whipped the plate away. Nice waiter just a bit too hyper and keen to get you finished and out! We eat there often and it's value for money.

Terrible service asked 3 members of staff for a plastic plate for my granddaughter. I was told of one she was to busy to get one and the other 2 didn't bother coming back . So granddaughter was just fed of my plate. I opted for pork and beef and was given scraps of the serving board. Veg was cold and tasteless. When asked by staff if food was ok we told them it was cold her response was to walk away. Won't be back

Not a great choice on veg, no greens and meat wasnt great either, beef fatty and turkey dry. Staff were friendly and good service. Shame as previous visits were better.

We had booked in advance for Boxing Day 3 Course meal, paid a deposit. It was very quiet there on arrival, our booking was not found, we were shown to a table that was not decorated with festive fare, had to get crackers ourselves from a decorated table, where we should have been. Starter was disappointing, poor presentation, main from the carvery was not hot enough as usual, gravy also luke warm, temperature really needs to improve, we took desserts home in take out, as suggested by our server, who I must say was very good (Thomas), overall food is nice, but spoilt by not being hot enough.

Lovely meal but disappointed in child’s menu,my grandson will only eat chicken nuggets and there was none for on the Sunday we went .he practically ate nothing from the child’s carvery, can’t fault the adult menu

All these people moaning on. Take no notice, I've visited this Toby frequently for decades. It's an all you can eat, self serve carvery. You get what you pay ..... it's not a posh restaurant. People get a grip, I'd recommend it. You get value for money and the service is great. End off
