We went as a family for my birthday. Food was fabulous, great portion size too. We had lots of the small plates as wanted to share and try lots of different things. I had the lobster and mango, gorgeous. The scallops were on a lovely puree base. They were cooked to perfection. Massive battered prawns, also three fish fillets that were so tender they just fell to bits in your mouth. There were 3 flattish sort of onion barjis as a starter, even the rice was lovely. One of the party had the £15.95 special which is served early evening and really enjoyed it. Even the dips are made in house, eaten with poppadoms they were all different, and my favorite was the sweet chilli pineapple. Also I don't like a lot of chilli so they toned it down in my food so it was there to taste but delicate. Not cheap but excellent quality and we will be back. Even the wine wasn't too bad a price. ☺️ Staff and manager very helpful and friendly, great for advice. I think they also do takeout and a couple of delivery drivers called in to collect while we were eating.

I can not emphasize enough how great this Indian restaurant is! The owner greeted very early on and was genuinely interested about you. Staff was exceptional and always checking in how the food, drinks, etc… were going. But the best part was by far the food. Got the Tikka Masala and it was the most flavorful I have ever had. The Nan was very light and airy as well. Dessert was amazing. Can not recommend this place enough.

Called in before a concert and didn't have much time. The staff were all really helpful and the service was excellent. The food was even better, with the Lamb Rogan Josh the highlight. Absolutely top notch, will definitely return.

What a fantastic place i can honestly say the BEST curry that we have had. Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming the staff attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The owner is an absolute star. If your wanting good and i mean good food well presented with flavours that will leave you wanting more then this is the place to be.

Had a Just Eat delivery from here, arrived piping hot in speedy time and with friendly driver. Meal was well packaged and tasted delicious. I got a Garlic Nan which smelled lovely and tasted equally dipped in my Goan Fish Curry, the sauce was amazing and there was plenty of fish in the curry. As for the Manjal Chicken Tikka starter i would say it was really nice, could do with some jazzing up tho, i felt it was just a tasty chicken breast that i would have had with a main meal not a starter. Anyways all in all it was tasty and i would recommend the Goan Fish Curry if you like fish and authentic currys.

We booked the Raval to have a meal and drinks before we went to a music concert at the SAGE Gateshead, which is just a short walk away. It was the first time we had used this restaurant, and it was a very good choice. Due to the start time of the show we had booked the restaurant for 17:30. I have to say from the moment we walked into the restaurant, the service was excellent, and having rushed home from work to get ready for the evening's events, we were immediately at ease and relaxed. It was a lovely summer afternoon, and the cold drinks we ordered complimented the food and ambience perfectly. We had a lovely meal and experience at the RAVAL, and we will definitely be going back. One point I would make is in regard to the location of the restaurant, which is located on the south side of the Tyne Bridge, pretty much positioned between the Hilton Hotel and the SAGE Music Venue. The local authority continue to make multiple changes to road layouts in that area, but don't let that put you off as it's definitely worth a visit.

Excellent, friendly service! Food great. Salmon Goan curry was very hot! Lamb dishes all tasty. So convenient for a pre concert dinner if you're going to the Sage. Highly recommended. We'll be back.
