Great day out and lots of fun for the kids! Plenty to see and do, especially if you catch the shows they run every day in the different zones. Space zone is awesome! There is also a large play area, an arts/drawing area, area with tables to eat a packed lunch(the centre allows this). My only gripe would be the cost of the tickets!

First time that I take my kids (6 and 9) at the Life Science Centre. We spent 5 hours there!!! There is so much to do and see it's worth the £31 entrance fee. We parked across Life and can book your parking at the same time you book your tickets and get a slight discount. On top of all the things you can do, there are also three shows, two at the planetarium, The Bear (for young kids) and Orion about the constellation, etc. The third show was at the Science Centre and it was about light and why we see colours. There is a cafe to get food and drinks but you can also bring your own food and have lunch there.

I really loved the visit to the Life Science Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne. There are a lot of activities to do, many things to explore and experience. It's a fun day trip with your family and kids.
What I loved the most is the Science explainers knowledge, professionalism and smiles which made the shows like Astronomy and Fire & Ice so much engaging and interesting.
There is a cafe right next to the gifts area which was very affordable and offered light snacks.
The overall experience was amazing.

Amazing day out with the kids. Loads to do and it’s all very hands on with lots to try out. Shows are really good as well in the planetarium. Spent about 3hours here but could’ve easily spent the whole day! Really lovely staff. Would recommend booking parking online, it’s a 2 minute walk away from the centre and you get a discounted rate when booking with your tickets.

Good place for kids to explore. Not really suitable for tea agers and adults.
The staff was OK but not very helpful.

First visit with my two boys (4 and 6). Next to station made it an easily accessible and great day out. Plenty of activities for children and interactive exhibits and shows. Staff very helpful - particularly when I had a bag that the lockers couldn't accommodate so showed me alternatives. Will be back

Fantastic place to keep all ages entertained. Great shows, staff are really helpful. Good choice if options available for food or there's a packed lunch area. Great for a rainy day and metro is nearby

Had a brilliant day here today came with my 2 year old, 5 year old and 8 year old. Decided to come here as was looking for somewhere which was autism friendly and I am so glad we travelled up here there was so much to do and perfect for my sons on the spectrum. I really loved the play area upstairs there was so much space for them to run around and play and for us to have a rest, the kids play kitchen area was a really big hit for my kids loved how it was so realistic. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and will return again in the near future.

We spent all day here - literally from opening until close
I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area again!
From making our own cardboard faces, to the live science show about our gruesome bodies, the 2 planetarium shows, all the interactive exhibits... and the best bit for me was donning the lab coat and goggles doing actual experiments such as mixing acids and alkalis, and doing forensic fingerprinting!
And the admission price was 10% off with it being last week of summer holidays

We booked parking online before we set off, only to find a huge number of spaces cordoned off and unusable, we were very lucky to find somewhere to actually park where we'd already paid for, I'm not sure what happens when there isn't any space left. Once we got inside it felt pointless booking in advance as we were just put in the same queue as everyone who hadn't done so, with very few people on the desk it was a frustratingly long wait.
Once inside I didn't feel like crowd numbers were managed at all. This was particularly noticeable when we tried to eat and we had to leave to find somewhere to sit down for food.
Good for the kids when we could get through the crowds to any of the exhibits but otherwise a frustrating day

Another great visit to the Centre for Life. Saw an educational show about colours and the planetarium show was great. Thinking of getting a membership.

We were only in Newcastle for 1 day and we spent most of the day here. Our best decision!!! We thought we would make the children happy - and we did - but we also learned so much. The planetarium was really interesting, the performance in the theater was very well done (including the skin).
There are so many stations where you can discover, try and experiment, it's not boring for a second. The entry price is really justified, everything is so elaborately prepared, the staff are very committed, helpful and happy. That was a really nice and interesting day. Thank you very much, we'll come back and learn more.

Came with 5 and 1 year old, both loved it. There is an under-7s area at the top floor which has soft play, den/construction area, tunnels, little interactive areas, dress up rail, play kitchen and shop, lots of whiteboards to colour in animals, easels with paper, writing stations and a book area too. There is a planetarium and film screening area, there is a 10 minute film for the younger kids. My 5 year old really loved some of the pop-up play areas around the ground floor and first floor. Her favourite was presenting the weather! Lots of STEM/ science activities that are a lot of fun. Both kids made rockets to go on the jump rocket launcher. 1 year old lasted 3 hrs before nap time and we did 4.5hrs with the 5year old but could have stayed longer! Food is available on site but lots of people brought packed lunch and there are games/activity areas so you can sit and eat and the kids still go off and play. Really great place, I highly recommend!!

I've been to the LSC twice with my baby boy. He isn't necessarily old enough to benefit from the academic side of the experience, but he loves all the lights and colours around all the exhibits. It's a fun sensory experience, and a lot of information is provided for those able and interested enough to take it all in. The interior of the centre is kept to a high standard of cleanliness, and the staff always seem happy and polite. The only drawback is the frequency of school trips to the centre - it is an ongoing occurrence so be prepared for a hectic environment when you come! Overall there is a fascinating and diverse selection of displays and experiments available, and it is definitely worth a visit, especially if you have curious youngsters!

Had a great day here yesterday with my son, so much to do and see. Great for a rainy day. Lots of things for kids all ages to get involved in. We were here 2 hours but my son would of stayed longer. Staff really helpful and friendly.

It was really amazing if it wasn't raining I would have stayed longer

Good day out with lots to see. Parking is a little walk in a multi storey. Museum is very accessible. The only negative is the cafe didn't have much choice of hot food (only pizza and chips!!). Plus main cafe seating area was taken over by people eating their own food brought in even though it said not to eat own food in the certain seating area.

What a fantastic day out at the centre for life we had. Loads of highly interactive things for my daughter to do, from science experiments, to crafts, games, building rockets, learning about space science, it really is s great experience for children of all ages and adults too. Very safe in terms of covid setup, nice and spacious cafe area, plenty of staff to help with any issues too. Only challenge we had was one of the lifts broke so we had to lift my daughter's wheelchair up a short flight of steps. Regardless of that, I'd highly recommend a visit if you're in town. Always something new to see and do here.
