Excellent food and lovely people! A must eat in quayside market!
We visited pop up wok at quayside Sunday market. We loved the fish balls in skewers. Excited to try their whole menu. In love with Hong Kong street food from pop up wok.
Pretty decent. The place feels homely and the staff are great.
The spicy ham and egg ramen was good but quite rich. The curry fish balls weren’t my cup of tea.

Quick service, chill environment (perfect to get some drawing done). Absolutely stunning food, i had the pancakes and cheesy fried chicken and the flavours were outstanding. The honey lemon tea was a perfect drink to go with it.
All reasonably came to around £15 which is good for street food lunch.
Will go again and highly recommend it.

One of my favourite places to visit for food in Newcastle. Food is always fabulous, the staff/owners are absolutely lovely, friendly and hard-working, and I love the general vibe of the place - you can even play boardgames while waiting for your order! A great place to chill and sample Hong Kong-style street food 😊
Really tasty authentic flavours from Hong Kong
The menu is amazing, a booklet of hand written, annotated and illustrated delights. I checked 2 menus and the were definitely slightly different looking so were handmade. This gave a very homely authentic feel to the menu and must have been a LOT of work.
Some of the items near the start of the menu seemed expensive but if you make it to the end there is some gems to be found at a slightly cheaper price.
I had the chicken in a rich soup and also breadcrumbed chicken breast with cheese and dressing. Honestly it was delicious and I can't recommend enough.
The staff were friendly and welcoming and they gad little games so we played connect 4.
Go for a visit it's a lovely place I will be returning soon
Absolutely delicious HK style street food.
Fried chicken wings curry was over the top! Try the drinks too much better than ANY HIGH STREET DRINK!
Definitely go again!
Great place to get a HK cafe experience.
The menu has a good selection of HK brunch dishes, street food and drinks, as well as a specials menu inside. The curry fish balls, radish cake and cheung fan were fantastic, and were decently priced.
The positive experience was more than just about the food though. There is a warm and friendly vibe to this place, which you can see when you look at their handmade menus inside, which are filled with fun doodles and useful tips to help you decide (particularly helpful if you're not familiar with the dishes). The staff were very welcoming and friendly. There is also a small selection of board games inside, which is a nice touch.
One thing I wasn't impressed with was the amount of waste though; all food and drink were all served in disposable containers, and there was no recycling bins at the self-serve cleaning station.
I was missing Hong Kong food and came here to celebrate Lunar New Years, I was not disappointed. Great food that reminds me of home. Lovely staff. Speedy service. Thank you so much 😍🧧🐅
Cozy relaxed place to chill
After lunch me and some friends decided to get something sweet so went to pop up wok for dessert. We shared waffles with peanut butter and lemon grass and ice cream with frozen melon balls.
This definitely had some Hong Kong vibes to it, loved the waffles, eggy, nice toasted crust and soft as you bite into it, the peanut butter gave it plenty of flavour, highly recommended.
Ice cream was refreshing, especially after a humid day, love the mellow taste you get from the melon balls complemented with grass jelly and ice cream makes it a perfect dessert.
Not on the picture but I also had Hong Kong milk tea which added to the whole Hong Kong vibe.
They do other lunch food as well so a good option to if you feeling especially hungry.
There's board games for you to play on the shelf and overall a good place to chillax on the weekend
I base my rating on whether I would go there again and I definitely would, 5 stars no problem. If you want a place to chill, with good food and drinks, Pop up Wok is a place to go to.
Clean, bright seating area with low key Chinese pop music setting the mood. The food was good and the service very welcoming and polite.
Delicious!!! Always been a pleasure to eat here and especially when we are feeling a bit of home sick!!!🥰 Service was superb too!!
