Wonderful establishment. I visited on a cold, rainy and miserable day whilst I waited for my passport to be renewed and it cheered me up. Great food at about a fiver, with a drink included. Much better than Spoons and you can actually get a seat.

Went for a night out in Newport after watching my football team play. Great atmosphere. They had karaoke which was good fun and the bar staff got involved too. Would go back again if I'm in Newport again.
Found the Lamb while walking around Newport, sun was out and they had a nice outside seating area. Good observation point for people watching.
Someone trying to buck the wetherspoons- type places. Good choice of beers. Very quiet. Have a beer and some food in the Lamb the next time you're in Newport.
Although fairly basic interior, the barman was very friendly and a surprisingly good real ale choice which was reasonably priced - can't go wrong with £3 for a pint of Proper Job.
