The Dragonfly

Friendly staff Kelly and Elaine are wonderful. Food always good and hot we eat here regularly. Bit disappointed in our last two visits, we usually arrive before 7:00pm the beef lasagna, fish and chips, pie were not available. These are most demanding food and hope the restaurant can keep up the stock and some items can be put back like the King Prawn/scallop starter, seafood pasta, beef Wellington on the menu.

Very friendly staff, but waiter very slow to actually input the order into the hand held tablet and he had to keep asking several times what everyone wanted, to the point that it became almost embarrassing to repeat. A few things on the menu you would assume to be freezer/stock items were unavailable, like fish and chips for example, but everyone enjoyed the food they ordered, it was all cooked well and served in a timely manner. A nice addition to the vegetarian choices, would be something like Impossible burger brand, all vegetarian choices are obvious vegetable alternatives rather than meat lookalike. Over all, these were minor criticisms that could easily be changed and we would definitely visit again.

After a long flight overnight and then a 2+ hour drive, I just wanted a quick meal before sleeping. I went to The Dragonfly because it was next door to my hotel. I got far more than expected. The atmosphere was great and the place was very busy. All I ordered was the chicken burger, but it was by far the best I've ever eaten. Coming from the US, where the chicken sandwich wars are currently being waged by the competing national chains, all I can say is that after one bit of any one those, followed by one bite of what I had at The Dragonfly, would cause anyone to throw the other sandwich in the trash bin. It was perfectly cooked and the sauces tomato, onions, etc. Just made it better. Just a simple sandwich. I can't help but wonder just how good the rest of the menu is. Maybe I will find out if I pass by again. And the service from Kelly was excellent, especially ially considering how busy she was.

Had a lovely anniversary meal to celebrate 10 years married and Kelly was really attentive. I had a small issue with my steak and she was quick to fix the issue and myself and husband still had an amazing dining experience. I’d like to add that I can tell Kelly really enjoys and is passionate about her job. Thanks for helping make our evening so enjoyable.

I had a meal here last night having booked a hotel nearby. When i called in to ask about a table it was clear they were very busy big they managed to make a table available when we wanted it. And i am so glad they did, the food was excellent, staff fabulous, their attention to detail over allergies was second to none. A truly lovely evening and i wouldn’t hesitate going back. Thank you

They fitted us in at short notice for a birthday celebration. The staff were attentive and the atmosphere great. Unbeknownst to us we'd landed there on a night where every main course was 20,% off so bargains all round. Not 5 stars at the linguine myself and partner had looked like it had been plonked on the plate and it wasn't that tasty either. A bit disappointing when the rest of the food and the started were so delicious. Would return though because overall a great experience

Lovely lunch with my wife, Beautiful succulent Steak 🥩 and red wine 🍷 pie, roasted carrots 🥕 were fabulous, and broccoli 🥦 perfectly steamed. This was just how wonderful pub meals were many years ago 😁. I was on crutches following an operation and so the level entry from car 'til seat was appreciated 👍.

We had an excellent fine dining in very beautiful and friendly place. We got here almost by case from our trip from the coast to the Midlands and we were really pleased with the food and service. I had the Seared fillets of seabass and my wife the Beef and Chianti Casserole, two well presented and delicious dishes. I surely recommend and I hope I can come back soon.
